Zhuang Wu pursed his lips in anger. “You clearly care about me, yet you won’t admit it.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Zhuang Wu was warned by Qin Qiyue’s gaze, causing him to quickly restrain himself.

After finishing the New Year’s Eve dinner, the group returned to the hotel. They had originally planned to stay out a little longer, but Lin Mengyu noticed that Wen Jia didn’t seem quite right and guessed that she wasn’t feeling well, so she told everyone to go back.

Upon entering the room, Zhuang Wu wanted to return to bed to sleep but was stopped by Qin Qiyue, who grabbed his wrist.

This time, Qin Qiyue remained silent for a long time. Just as Zhuang Wu was getting impatient, Qin Qiyue finally spoke again, “…No.”

Zhuang Wu hugged him even tighter. “You hesitated, you liar.”

“It’s late, let go.” Qin Qiyue gently pushed Zhuang Wu without using much force. “I’m going to take a shower and then go to bed. You should go to bed early too.”

Zhuang Wu opened the red envelope Qin Qiyue had slipped into his hand and was stunned. Qin Qiyue was so generous; the amount of money in the red envelope was more than what Lin Mengyu had given him.

So, Zhuang Wu picked out a pair of shoes, which cost about the same as the red envelope money Qin Qiyue had given him. 

Once he gave the shoes to Qin Qiyue, he wouldn’t have to feel guilty anymore.

By the time Qin Qiyue came out of the bathroom, Zhuang Wu had already fallen into a half-asleep state.

But when he heard footsteps, Zhuang Wu perked up a little. “Gege, I forgot to reply to you. Happy New Year…”
