Though it was a forest, it was on the grounds of the academy. It seemed to be well-maintained, and Ursch was able to make his way to the Quiet Pond without any problems.
Unlike what one might expect when hearing that it was a pond in the forest, the area around Quiet Pond is lined with garden stones and shrubs arranged in a perfectly natural, calculated arrangement, and wild flowers and herbs grow in perfectly natural, calculated arrangements.
Some students would not have noticed the handiwork that had been put into the natural beauty of the place, but in the middle of it, there was a gazebo that was obviously man-made. The octagonal wooden gazebo, painted white, seemed to have barely been used, with the paint peeling off in places and cracks appearing. Even though it was well-maintained, it seemed like no one used it.
With a place so well-maintained, it’s not surprising that Miss Marieta would come alone to stake out the place multiple times.
Ursch had planned to pitch a tent and wait until the spirit statues appeared, but he changed his plans and decided to wait in the gazebo instead. Lanterns were hanging between the pillars in the gazebo. They didn’t light up automatically, so Ursch lit all the lanterns before the sun went down completely.
After that, he checks his surroundings and, once he confirms that no one else is there, he uses items to create a defensive wall around the area to prevent anyone from disturbing him.
He had heard that time didn’t pass while in the Forbidden Library, but he couldn’t confirm whether it was just his mind or his body that was going there, so he adjusted the placement and range of items so that there wouldn’t be any problems no matter what. All the while, he didn’t take his eyes off the pond.
By the time he was ready to stake out, the sun had completely set and it was dark in the forest, but the light of the lanterns gave him a good view of the surroundings. The light of the lanterns reflected on the surface of the pond was a beautiful sight. If you can get away from the Seven Wonders, this would be a perfect spot to spend some quiet time.
Ursch had his notebook and pen ready so he could record anything he heard as soon as he heard the song, and he was silently gazing out at the pond, thinking about Isabella.
Isabella is probably waiting awake in case something were to happen to him. Ideally, it would be best to have the maid Ann persuade Isabella to sleep, but Ann herself was trained by the Dark Guild in poor conditions, so she doesn’t see a problem with not sleeping for several days, and in recent years, she has made it her mission to support Isabella so that she can do what she wants without any problems, so it’s probably not something he can expect.
The original plan was to wait in a tent, but since this place had a gazebo and was well-maintained, it might not be a problem if Isabella was there. The thought crossed his mind for a moment, but he imagined himself staring out at the pond all night, and Isabella staring at him like that all night, and Ursch shook his head slightly.
The fact that those sparkling eyes, unchanged since they first met, were staring at him with such sincere affection was the greatest happiness and joy for Ursch, but he did not have the composure of an adult to take it for granted. And Ursch was painfully aware of that.
Although Isabella is oblivious and insensitive to her own words and actions, she notices when Ursch blushes with embarrassment or shame.
Seeing that young boy being tossed about by his emotions with a smile on her face, Ursch felt that he was still too immature as a man, and every time this happened he was overcome with feelings of embarrassment and irritation.
And so, for a moment, a small bit of male pride flashed across the edge of his mind: he didn’t want Isabella to see him behaving suspiciously out of embarrassment or shame when they were alone for a long time and she gazed intently at him with sparkling eyes.
He knew that Isabella would be happy to accept him like that.
But even so, I want to appear calm and composed.
As he thought about it, Ursch realized that he had such a petty stubbornness within himself, and sighed, thinking that he was just like a child putting up a false bravado, and that he still had a long way to go before he could become an adult.
However, while one might think that Isabella’s mental age would increase with the years she lived in her previous life, this is not the case, and in fact she sometimes seems more childish than others her age.
“By being reborn, the ego of the previous world disappears. Even though the child’s age was reset, he suddenly became a 6-year-old. Due to an irregularity such as the resurrection and addition of a new one, the ego and body of a six-year-old child in this world are transformed into a different world. Ursch speculates that this is due to the instability caused by the mixture of memory data. Since there is no way to confirm what the ego and personality of the Japanese woman who inspired this story were originally like, I think it will remain something that can only be guessed at, without any answers being available.
Moreover, this prediction, including Ursch’s hopes, is nothing more than ‘wishful thinking’.
The sabotage of the plan to turn Isabella into a Demon Lord was going smoothly, and Ursch was able to relax on that issue. The thing he was most afraid of now was the sudden resurrection of Isabella’s past life memory data. If it suddenly disappears.
However, if Ursch’s ‘wishful thinking’ were to be correct, the current Isabella would have been born as a child with in her previous life memories at the age of six. Isabella has only acquired the power of her past life, and her original self is still Isabella herself. Even if she disappears, Isabella’s ego and the memories of their life together will remain, so wouldn’t it just be that she can’t remember it?
No, he hoped that this was the case, and Ursch, not wanting to lose the precious days and happiness he had spent with Isabella, continued to pray in his heart every day, even now.
I wonder how long I thought about Isabella. It may not have been that long, but it may have been a long time.
Right in front of Ursch, a pure white, shining spirit statue with its mouth hidden appeared on the pond, spinning around while scattering light with its crystal-like wings.
The sounds of the wind, the distant sounds of cleaning up after the rookie match, and the rustling of the trees in the forest all disappear.
He could hear the voice of a young girl singing. It sounded like it was coming from inside the pond.
On top of the mountains of Helvandanya, there was a lonely king
On top of the mountains of Helvandanya, the king lived alone.
The King never leaves the mountain, but he knows more than anyone else.
The king had his hands clasped together, but he was still stronger than anyone else
The king cannot open his eyes, but he still sees through better than anyone else
The king doesn’t speak, but he’s still more charming than anyone else
On top of the mountains of Helvandanya, there was a lonely king
On top of the mountains of Helvandanya, the king lived alone.
One day, a holy knight came from the sky to rescue the king.
The king was divided into ten pieces.
When the gentle holy knight disappeared beneath the mountains of Helvandanya
On the mountain of Helvandanya, ten kings lament
Across the far, far sea, ten kings set out on a journey
Seven hit the ground and two disappeared.
There is no strong king on the mountain of Helvandanya.
There is no king on the mountain of Helvandanya.
Ursch was able to memorize the lyrics, but just to be sure he wrote them down on a note and approached the pond, looking at the water’s surface.
Letters appeared on the surface of the water, and Ursch read them out loud.
“If you join me, I’ll give you half the world”
“The code is fixed, huh? Ah, I see. That’s how it is.”
The moment he noticed, Ursch was sucked into the magic circle that appeared in the pond.
Ursch was able to get into the forbidden library!!! On a side note, Ursch is really self-aware for a yandere character.
I hope you enjoyed this chapter and thank you for reading!
