Chapter 18 – Paper Man 17
At the police station, the blood of others reeked and tasted foul, holding no interest for Su Tang. Yet when he turned to look at Luo Yuan, every aspect seemed utterly delicious, making his hunger grow unbearable.
Su Tang swallowed repeatedly, his face a mask of desperate longing, his gaze so intense it could have burned through flesh.
Walking ahead, Luo Yuan found himself unusually nervous, nearly stumbling over his own feet. The housekeeper noticed the young master’s reaction and smiled warmly.
That night, as always, they slept together.
Though the villa had plenty of rooms, Luo Yuan never suggested preparing a guest room for Su Tang. When servants inquired, the housekeeper kindly declined, arranging for staff to finish their duties quickly and leave, avoiding any awkwardness.
While awake, Su Tang could still control himself, mentally repeating not to pounce and drink blood. But lying on the same bed, so close that a simple roll would bring him into Luo Yuan’s arms—where he could easily seize his neck and bite down—
Half-conscious and starving, with such tempting prey right before him, who could possibly resist?
When Luo Yuan was embraced, his body stiffened. He dared not move, fearing he might wake the other man. His heart swelled with both joy and tension, afraid he might lose control and do something regrettable. Yet despite his stillness, the person in his arms stirred restlessly. Strong arms wrapped around his neck in an intimate embrace, warm breaths brushing against his skin with a faint sweetness that made his head spin, as if floating on clouds with softness beneath his feet.
In the next instant, Luo Yuan let out a muffled groan of pain as he was caught completely off guard by a sharp bite.
Luo Yuan looked at the man in his arms with helpless indulgence, gently stroking the back of his neck.
Don’t tell me he was dreaming about food and decided to gnaw on my duck neck.
Even so, Luo Yuan endured it willingly, as if not feeling the pain at all. He allowed the bite to continue, savoring this closeness.
Perhaps Su Tang’s daytime mental suggestion had worked. Instead of succumbing to temptation and freely drinking Luo Yuan’s blood, he took only a single bite. He licked the blood with reverence, then nuzzled affectionately before burrowing into the crook of Luo Yuan’s neck to continue sleeping.
While Su Tang slept soundly, Luo Yuan found himself in torment.
The gentle breaths brushing against his skin sent shivers of desire deep into his heart. The softness of the body in his arms was impossible to ignore, making him want to capture those lips in a passionate kiss, to conquer this fortress and plunder it at will. He wondered if Su Tang would dare to tease him like this in his dreams again.
Holding Su Tang, Luo Yuan felt both blessed and tormented. His mind raced with relentless activity, keeping him awake until dawn. Only when the first light of day approached did he finally manage to close his eyes for a brief rest.
Concerned about Su Tang’s safety after the mall incident, Luo Yuan carefully advised him, “Tangtang, you mustn’t act so recklessly next time. Your kindness is admirable, and saving children is a good deed, but I worry about you. If you see something dangerous, tell me. Having someone with you makes all the difference.”
Su Tang froze, his heart clenching.
He had done similar things before—rushing to help others in danger without thinking. He’d been injured because of it, and his classmates had called him foolish. They said his own life was most important, that calling the police was enough help. Some even claimed he was just seeking attention.
Su Tang felt quite uncomfortable hearing others say such things. He believed he was doing the right thing. Before, he had no family, and no one would be too upset if he died. That’s why he thought it wouldn’t matter even if he died saving someone else. But this time, Luo Yuan’s words were completely different.
Luo Yuan supported his actions, thinking he was doing the right thing. He just worried about him and said he would stay by his side.
Su Tang felt warm inside, but suddenly his nose prickled with emotion.
Luo Yuan had to go to the company. He originally wanted to take Su Tang along like yesterday, but because of the supermarket incident, he asked Su Tang to stay home and told him to call if anything came up.
Su Tang wanted to secretly test his abilities anyway, so he obediently nodded. After a moment’s thought, he earnestly warned him, “You can’t talk to Chen Yingying or interact with her.”
Luo Yuan looked puzzled. “Who’s Chen Yingying?”
“… That woman who tried to get you to give her a ride yesterday,” Su Tang replied.
Luo Yuan frowned, his expression turning cold. “How do you know her name? Are you that concerned about her?”
Su Tang: “……” No, your focus is a bit off here.
Su Tang seriously grabbed his hand. “Anyway, you can’t talk to her or interact with her. If she comes looking for you, don’t acknowledge her.”
After saying this, Su Tang realized his demand sounded like something from a grade schooler—the type of thing where you’d say, “I don’t like her, so you’re not allowed to play with her either.” He touched his face, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Luo Yuan was displeased, but under Su Tang’s watchful gaze, he still nodded. If it were anyone else, he would have already sent people to investigate. But Su Tang was a paper person; there was nothing to investigate at all. He couldn’t even find out what relationship Su Tang had with Chen Yingying.
Logically speaking, Su Tang definitely couldn’t know her. Could it be related to someone he met during that trip? Was there a woman Su Tang had been fond of who looked like Chen Yingying? But Su Tang was clearly his lover, with affection levels so high—he should only like him.
Whenever Luo Yuan thought about Su Tang’s unusual attention towards Chen Yingying, he couldn’t help but feel a sourness rising in his chest, the bitterness of lemons spreading for miles around.
Luo Yuan pulled Su Tang into a tight embrace, as if trying to chain him to his side. After holding him for a long moment, he reluctantly let go when time ran out. He ruffled Su Tang’s hair repeatedly, messing up his soft black curls until a single stubborn strand stood straight up on his head—a sight so adorable it could melt hearts.
Su Tang watched Luo Yuan leave, then instinctively touched the spot where his hand had been moments before. His face flushed pink as he stood frozen in the entryway for several seconds before snapping out of it.
What’s wrong with me? he thought. I should find some bricks to test if I can break them bare-handed!
Unfortunately, a thorough search of the villa revealed no bricks.
Su Tang settled for the next best thing: a heavy stainless steel ladle from the kitchen. The handle was as thick as a finger, sturdy and weighty—something no ordinary person could snap.
He found a secluded corner and gripped the ladle with both hands, straining with all his might…
The ladle remained completely unyielding.
Not only did it fail to break, but it didn’t even show the slightest hint of bending.
Su Tang frowned, straining with all his might. His cheeks puffed out like steamed buns as he grunted, face flushing crimson, yet the spoon remained unbroken.
He sighed in defeat. “I guess I just tapped into hidden potential during that crisis yesterday. No superpowers here…”
Muttering unhappily, he flicked the spoon with his free hand. The utensil snapped at the point of contact, sending it flying across the room where it clattered to the floor.
Su Tang: “……!!!”
Fuck!
Me!
