Chapter 27 – Paper Man 26
With the kidnapping incident concluded, the power struggle within the Luo family also reached its climax, yielding an outcome that defied all expectations.
The youngest Luo son’s reckless investments had resulted in catastrophic losses. Now facing criminal charges and impending imprisonment, his reputation lay in ruins. Rumors even suggested he’d suffered permanent leg injuries. His repeated displays of incompetence had clearly severed any ties to the position of Luo Group leader.
Thus, everyone assumed the mantle would inevitably fall to Luo Yuan. Given his years of steady performance, the senior executives found his leadership prospects acceptable. Yet at this critical juncture, Luo Yuan declared his intention to strike out independently!
Has he gone mad?!
The young man’s impetuosity betrayed naivety—perhaps the result of sailing too smoothly through life under the Luo Group’s shelter. How could he presume to achieve anything without the family’s backing? What could he possibly accomplish on his own?
Then Luo Yuan presented the fruits of his independent venture: Qi Star.
Though lacking the deep reserves of established conglomerates, Qi Star’s youthful team thrived on innovative thinking and seized the era’s opportunities. Their meteoric rise gave them surprising advantages even against the Luo Group, leading to fruitful collaborations between the two entities.
Now Luo Yuan claimed to be the true owner behind Qi Star?!
The older generation fell silent.
If they had previously thought Luo Yuan was capable, now they felt genuine awe. The younger generation truly was formidable. How had he managed to oversee the Luo Group while simultaneously building a cutting-edge company? If he could achieve this much while divided, what might he accomplish if he focused solely on the Luo Group?
The board elders couldn’t help but resent Luo Father’s foolishness. With such an exceptional son, he’d stubbornly favored the mentally impaired one. Hadn’t he driven the capable son away? The man had simply left!
Those who had once reveled in the Luo family’s father-son tensions, hoping to exploit the chaos for power, now flocked to Luo Yuan, pretending to be wise elders and showering him with flattery as if they’d always been close. Luo Yuan hadn’t been idling these past years—his mastery of diplomatic niceties and surface-level pleasantries matched the old hands’ skills. Of course, he wouldn’t strip away their pretenses—they still needed to cooperate.
In the end, when the time came to leave, Luo Yuan departed decisively, not looking back.
Compared to dealing with the company’s slippery old-timers, Luo Yuan had far more important matters to attend to.
He’d been busy lately, so busy that he couldn’t keep clinging to Su Tang constantly.
At first, Su Tang didn’t mind; he understood Luo Yuan’s workload. But then he noticed Luo Yuan seemed to be secretly scheming something behind his back.
Su Tang: Suddenly on guard.jpg
Though they hadn’t explicitly declared their relationship, it was clear they were in a dating phase. Could Luo Yuan have grown tired of him and started seeing someone else?
Su Tang felt like his head was turning green…
So, he began sneaking around too, trying to uncover what Luo Yuan was up to.
Unfortunately, his amateur stalking skills were terrible. He was discovered immediately, dragged out from the corner by Luo Yuan, and pulled into the office where they kissed for so long that Su Tang’s lips went numb.
Su Tang loved kissing Luo Yuan, but the thought of being cheated on made him snap out of his daze. He pushed Luo Yuan away angrily and demanded, “What have you been doing behind my back?”
Luo Yuan smiled. “You already know?”
Seeing no guilt on Luo Yuan’s face, only that cheerful smile, Su Tang wondered if he’d already decided to break up. No way am I getting cheated on. That would be too humiliating.
Thus—
Su Tang’s eyes widened as he declared with forceful conviction, “I’m breaking up with you!”
He wanted to be the one to initiate the breakup; that way it wouldn’t be so painful.
Luo Yuan froze. “Why?”
In the next instant, his expression darkened ominously. His hand clamped around Su Tang’s wrist like an iron shackle, while his other arm encircled Su Tang’s waist. His scalding palm pressed against Su Tang’s lower back, forcibly pulling him into a tight embrace as if to imprison him forever.
Luo Yuan’s eyes were pitch-black, swirling with dangerous depths that seemed to conceal hidden currents.
“Never. Under no circumstances will we break up,” Luo Yuan said coldly.
Under this intense gaze, Su Tang felt both humiliated and strangely… charmed? He couldn’t deny that Luo Yuan’s reaction was… rather impressive?
Because of this, Su Tang found himself unable to move an inch away from Luo Yuan. Every attempt to leave was met with a restraining hand. When he tried to use the restroom, a hand appeared at his waist the moment he took a step, pulling him back until he was forced to sit on Luo Yuan’s lap.
Su Tang glared at him resentfully. “If you don’t let me go, I’m going to pee…”
Luo Yuan’s face was cold and stern. When he heard this, he froze for a moment before breaking into an unexpected laugh. He added with a perverse grin, “Then go ahead and pee.”
Su Tang: “……” Damn, he’s truly a pervert.
Despite his words, Luo Yuan didn’t dare push Su Tang too far. While he enjoyed the act of coaxing him, he couldn’t bear the thought of Su Tang ignoring him for days.
Thus, Luo Yuan followed him into the bathroom.
Su Tang stood there flushing the toilet, while Luo Yuan watched from the side, making him so uncomfortable he nearly couldn’t pee.
His face turned red, his ears flushed, and finally, under that intense gaze, even his neck burned with embarrassment.
“Hey!” Su Tang turned to glare at him, his expression fierce. I’m super scary, you know!
Luo Yuan smiled back, utterly unimpressed.
Su Tang: “……” Fuck, not thick-skinned enough to win this battle.
After the recent misunderstanding that nearly ended their relationship, Luo Yuan decided to stop hiding and show Su Tang what he’d been secretly working on.
“I was planning to tell you in two more days,” Luo Yuan said, “but I guess now is as good a time as any.”
Curiosity piqued, Su Tang followed Luo Yuan to a grand villa.
The exterior was lavish and imposing, but the true significance lay inside.
As Su Tang entered and saw the room, his eyes lit up instantly.
“This is my room!”
It was identical to the small house in the game, down to the tiniest details—a perfect replica. For a moment, Su Tang felt disoriented, almost as if he’d stepped into the game itself.
This was Luo Yuan’s recent project. Concerned that Su Tang might struggle to adapt to the real world and miss his familiar virtual sanctuary, Luo Yuan had arranged for the room to be decorated exactly like the game version. He sourced matching furniture whenever possible, commissioning custom pieces when necessary. The goal was clear: to create a home that would make Su Tang feel utterly content.
As expected, Su Tang’s reaction was immediate and enthusiastic. He sprawled across the lazy chair in a classic “starfish” pose, his long legs dangling over the edge. Closing his eyes, he let out a contented sigh, “Ahh, this is heaven…”
Luo Yuan couldn’t help but chuckle.
Truth be told, Su Tang didn’t need the exact replica of his game room. But this space embodied his dream of a lazy, carefree existence—a sanctuary that also held sentimental value as the first place he’d experienced after his transmigration. By recreating this environment, Luo Yuan had shown such thoughtful consideration. How could anyone not be moved by such kindness?
Su Tang pushed himself up from the chair and rushed to Luo Yuan, planting a quick kiss on his cheek before murmuring, “Thank you.” He then darted away, suddenly captivated by the intricate patterns on the wardrobe doors, as if he’d just discovered a hidden treasure.
Luo Yuan noticed the red ears peeking out from Su Tang’s soft, curled hair, and his lips involuntarily curled into a smile. “Why don’t you open the wardrobe, Tangtang?” he suggested. “There’s your favorite outfit inside.”
At this, Su Tang’s anticipation grew. Luo Yuan’s fashion sense was impeccable – whether in the game or reality, the clothes he chose always made Su Tang feel like he’d discovered hidden depths to his own beauty and physique.
His favorite? That outfit must be absolutely outrageous.
Su Tang eagerly opened the wardrobe, then froze at the sight of what hung inside.
So familiar.
So opulent.
A court dress.
The exact one Luo Yuan had specially designed for Su Tang’s birthday.
Su Tang had shoved it into the wardrobe’s corner, gradually forgetting about it. How could he have imagined it was still waiting here?!
Luo Yuan had actually had this made into a real garment in the physical world!
Just how obsessed was he with Su Tang’s cross-dressing?!
Luo Yuan picked up the dress, holding it against Su Tang’s body with a smile in his eyes. “This dress is quite complicated. Let me help you put it on. Take off your clothes first.”
Su Tang: “……”
Damn it!
If I don’t run now, when will I get another chance?!
Su Tang turned and fled without hesitation, urgently calling out in his mind, “Tongtong! Get me back into the game now!”
The system responded, “Returning to the game requires triggering conditions – you must come into contact with Luo Yuan’s phone. However, shrinking doesn’t require this. Would the host like to transform into a miniature version of himself?”
Su Tang nodded vigorously, “Yes! Yes! Shrink me immediately!”
If I’m small and Luo Yuan can’t see me, isn’t that essentially invisible? This works!
In the next instant, Su Tang indeed shrank with a whoosh, transforming into a tiny figure that scampered away with labored breathing.
In Luo Yuan’s view, the person had suddenly vanished. His chest tightened, nearly driving him to panic. His worst fear had come true—Su Tang, who had abruptly entered his life, had now suddenly disappeared.
It felt like a piece of his heart had been brutally torn out, leaving behind an empty void. His eyes lost their light, the curve of his lips vanished, restoring his expression to cold indifference.
But soon, Luo Yuan noticed a small figure running away from where Su Tang had stood moments ago.
He crouched down, scooped up the miniature person in his palm, and gently lifted him.
In his hand was a ten-centimeter-tall version of Su Tang—a shrunken replica of the man, everything reduced in size yet incredibly adorable.
Luo Yuan, astonished, tentatively reached out to touch the miniature man’s face. Just as Su Tang opened his mouth to speak, he accidentally stuffed his finger in.
“Let me go… mmmph!”
Su Tang’s tiny frame made even Luo Yuan’s single finger seem enormous. Completely muffled, he could only emit muffled whimpers, his face flushing crimson as tears welled up in his eyes, creating a pitiful sight.
Luo Yuan froze, his gaze flickering as an odd expression crossed his face. After a moment, he slowly withdrew his hand, staring at the crystalline substance on his fingertip.
Su Tang finally exhaled in relief, his chest heaving violently. He flailed his arms and glared at Luo Yuan, “How could you do that?! I nearly couldn’t breathe!”
Luo Yuan lowered his eyes and apologized obediently, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
Seeing his sincere attitude and understanding it was truly an accident, Su Tang let the matter drop. However, there was another issue that needed serious discussion. “I don’t want to wear a dress. You can’t force me into one, and you definitely can’t take off my clothes. Help me change instead, or else… or else I…”
He bared his sharp little canines, adopting a ferocious expression as he racked his brain for the most intimidating threat.
Luo Yuan gazed at the adorably small Su Tang cradled in his palm, his heart melting. With eyes brimming with affection and indulgence, he asked, “What else do you want?”
Su Tang pondered for a long moment but couldn’t think of a truly frightening threat. In a sudden burst of inspiration, he declared, “I’ll bite you!”
With dramatic intensity, he opened his mouth and clamped his teeth onto Luo Yuan’s thumb. His round, jet-black eyes glared defiantly, face radiating a “See what you’ve made me do?” expression.
Luo Yuan’s lips curled into a smirk. His voice, deep and sensual, resonated against eardrums, each syllable a caress that could make legs go weak. “Scared? I’m terrified.”
Terrified of how utterly adorable this was.
