WWSEG – Chapter 5

Super Topic

When Song Yushi woke up, the entire villa, including the production team, knew she had gained a little fanboy. She sat at the dining table in her pajamas, eyes still heavy with sleep, eating the breakfast Qi Ke had brought while digesting this news.

“Chen Sheng is my fan?” Song Yushi took a bite of bread.

Qi Ke nodded.

Song Yushi: “Oh…”

Qi Ke: “…” Give me a more enthusiastic reaction!

But Song Yushi was still in a daze. She was always like this right after waking up, her long hair messy, her makeup-free face half-hidden, looking lazy despite having slept enough.

Qi Ke, finding it no fun, turned to wash the vegetables.

The kitchen was open-plan, so Qi Ke’s every move was in full view. Seeing her roll up her sleeves to cook, Song Yushi finally regained some clarity. She rubbed her eyes. “What are you doing?”

Qi Ke raised a kitchen knife. “Cooking.”

Song Yushi’s brow furrowed. “You’re trying to harm me.”

It was a statement of fact.

Qi Ke: “…” The cameras are still rolling!!!

Qi Ke came from a good family, born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her ten fingers had never touched household chores; she was a bona fide young lady. Although she had changed a lot after joining the girl group, her cooking skills hadn’t improved at all.

Admittedly, they were incredibly busy before and after their debut, mostly ordering takeout, so no one’s cooking was truly great. But someone like Qi Ke, who could blow up the kitchen while cooking and still manage to serve a dish from the ashes, was truly a rare sight.

That time, Sweet Day was unprecedentedly polite.

“You eat, you eat. You’re pretty, you eat first.”

“I’m ugly, the ugliest in the group.”

“Then the ugly one eats first.”

“Hey!” Qi Ke, covered in soot, tapped the table. “Why are you being so modest?” She pointed at Song Yushi with a grin. “Captain, you eat first.”

Song Yushi: “…” It was at that moment that she began to doubt the sincerity of Qi Ke’s feelings for her.

Song Yushi ate it.

As Song Yushi suffered from vomiting and diarrhea, Qi Ke knew that Song Yushi’s love for her was true.

But ever since then, Song Yushi had developed PTSD about Qi Ke entering the kitchen. Right now, she looked at Qi Ke and said slowly, “Put the knife down. We can talk this out.”

Qi Ke: Don’t say things that could be misunderstood!

Qi Ke brought the knife down on a pork rib and lifted her chin. “I’m not the same kitchen novice I was back then. Don’t you underestimate me, okay?”

Song Yushi took a sip of milk and retorted, “You’re not a kitchen novice.”

Qi Ke: “?”

Song Yushi: “You’re a kitchen black hole.”

Qi Ke: “…”

She glared at Song Yushi, then suddenly froze. Song Yushi had been drinking yogurt, and a white mustache had formed around her mouth. It was soft, making her look very well-behaved and easy to bully.

Qi Ke unconsciously licked her lips and put down the kitchen knife.

Song Yushi hummed in confusion. “What made you change your mind?”

Qi Ke didn’t speak. She walked around the counter, casually pulled out a tissue, and went straight to Song Yushi. Not knowing what she was about to do, Song Yushi mouthed “What?” and leaned back slightly.

As if just realizing the cameras were there, Qi Ke stiffly held the tissue out to Song Yushi. “Wipe your mouth.”

Song Yushi subconsciously licked the corner of her mouth. The sweet yogurt was strawberry-flavored, and as her tongue swept it into her mouth, it brought a trace of sweetness. She took the tissue and wiped her mouth. “Thanks.”

Qi Ke returned to her usual self. “You’re a grown-up, yet you’re still so careless.”

Song Yushi muttered, “I’m only two years older than you,” then cleared the table herself, staying far away from the kitchen. She tidied the bedroom first, then cleaned the living room. By the time she had tended to the flowers and plants on the balcony, she could smell a fragrant aroma from the kitchen.

Qi Ke was humming a song while skillfully stir-frying vegetables. From the looks of it, she seemed like a top graduate from New Oriental.

Song Yushi walked over. “When did you learn?”

Qi Ke tilted her head, pretended to think for a moment, then winked her left eye at Song Yushi. “I’m not telling you.”

Song Yushi: “…”

If you don’t want to say it, then don’t. Why are you acting cute?

An hour and a half later.

Song Yushi: “Smells so good.”

The first episode would include the pilot and various behind-the-scenes clips, so the second day of filming ended at three in the afternoon. Because Song Yushi had an engagement in the evening, she was the first to be picked up by Sister Fei.

A black Audi A8L slowly drove out of the villa complex. After passing the crowd of fans, Sister Fei said, “Drive faster, we’re in a hurry.”

Song Yushi looked back and frowned. “Why didn’t you let me greet the fans?”

Sister Fei didn’t even look up. “I said we’re in a hurry.”

It was cold in the winter, and it was tough for the fans to wait around. In the past, Song Yushi would have always greeted her fans before leaving. Sneaking away from them like this without a word was something she had never done.

Song Yushi thought for a moment and had Xiao Nan order milk tea delivery for the fans.

“Why are you so good to your fans?” Sister Fei looked at her with a half-smile. “Fans are the most fickle. They love you today and someone else tomorrow. Don’t get too emotionally invested. No matter how much they love you, won’t they just leave whenever they want?”

Song Yushi retorted, neither too harshly nor too softly, “It’s enough that they like me now.”

Sister Fei resentfully tugged at the corner of her mouth and stopped discussing unpleasant topics with Song Yushi, changing the subject. According to her, Song Yushi was attending a gala tonight mainly for a certain producer.

“A film and television IP worth tens of millions, the original work alone has over a hundred million subscriptions. The female lead hasn’t been decided yet. If you land it, your status as a top actress will be secure.” Sister Fei’s vision was grand. She nudged Song Yushi’s shoulder. “Remember to smile, don’t be so cold.”

Song Yushi didn’t say anything.

For the next few hours, she was like a doll being dressed up—trying on evening gowns, getting her hair styled, and having her makeup done, until Xiao Nan let out a gasp of admiration. “Boss, you’re so beautiful!”

Song Yushi lazily opened her eyes.

Her reflection in the makeup mirror went from blurry to clear.

The makeup for the banquet was very soft. From her brows to her eyes to her lips, she looked like an endless mountain range on a warm spring day. Seen through mist and clouds, it was a beauty and gentleness that could smooth a pool of spring water ruffled by the wind.

And yet, the Japanese-style earrings swaying in red added a touch of glamour.

Song Yushi lifted the hem of her dress and stood up, asking as she walked out, “Has the milk tea been delivered?”

Xiao Nan nodded quickly. “It has! The fans were so happy. Oh, right.” Xiao Nan hesitated for a moment before saying, “When I was handing out the milk tea, Teacher Qi happened to come out.”

Song Yushi raised an eyebrow slightly. “And then?”

Xiao Nan said in a low voice, “Teacher Qi asked me for one.”

Song Yushi: “…” She knew it.

Qi Ke, the number one person who can’t walk away at the sight of milk tea.

On the way to the banquet, Song Yushi opened Weibo. Sure enough, Sister Fei, who had been so dismissive of her buying milk tea for fans, had already arranged for a trending topic. The top posts were all praising the “mutual arrow” between her and her fans.

Song Yushi clicked on the Weibo post she had made that morning and discovered that Qi Ke had already replied.

@Qi Ke: If you lose a game, you have to accept the punishment!

A single sentence explained the context of the Weibo post, lightly and cleanly brushing away any hint of ambiguity.

Song Yushi replied to a few fans in the top comments. Just as she was about to exit, as if guided by a strange impulse, she clicked on the Qi Yu CP Super Topic.

Back when they were in the group, she would occasionally see other CP Super Topics for Qi Ke on her side account. Their descriptions were always sentimental and touching, producing many classic quotes. She wondered what hers and Qi Ke’s was like.

Song Yushi clicked on the Super Topic’s description.

Super Topic Description: Qi Ke X Song Yushi, crackshipping is the absolute best!

Song Yushi: “…”
