Adding to this the extra difficulty of a matriarchal world where females are ‘dominant’ most side characters should be ‘female'[mfn]adding quotations because even in Danmei worlds where females are supposed to be stronger and in charge are just males with the name of female but nothing much else is different[/mfn] but that seems not to be the case for every author.
