UNCLTRD chapter 51

In comparison to the shock of Yang Tao being his biological son, when the two were alone that night, the fact that Yang Shao could naturally conceive made Chen Qiusu feel even more perplexed.

Chen Qiusu looked at Yang Shao, who had his back to him, changing clothes by the bed. Yang Shao was more muscular than an omega but still slightly slender compared to an alpha. Betas, as a gender, were often considered to be somewhere in the middle in terms of personality and built, but Yang Shao’s ability to conceive naturally seemed to defy this “average” status.

“What are you looking at?” Yang Shao, having finished changing, turned around and caught Chen Qiusu staring at him.

Chen Qiusu snapped out of his daze. “Tomorrow, we’ll go to the hospital for a check-up.”

“Huh? What do we need to go to the hospital for?”

Chen Qiusu was straightforward, “You and me.” After all, Yang Shao had been with him through his heat, and Chen Qiusu wanted to understand better, especially since Yang Shao had supported him all this time. He didn’t want to be ignorant about it.

It wasn’t a big deal, but Yang Shao was uncomfortable about it. He hated the feeling of being treated like an experiment. Though he was reluctant, he didn’t reject Chen Qiusu’s suggestion.

The check-up results were not what they expected. Aside from Chen Qiusu having slightly higher pheromone levels, there was nothing abnormal. His high pheromone concentration was probably due to his long period of abstinence. As for Yang Shao, his medical report showed that he was just a regular, average beta.

“Although a beta conceiving naturally is rare, it’s not impossible. It doesn’t affect your health, so don’t worry too much.” The doctor joked, “If you really want a reason, it could be due to genetic compatibility.”

This made Yang Shao feel even more embarrassed than the notion of Chen Qiusu being extraordinary.

The doctor suggested, “Now with medical advancements, if you two still want children, you could use assisted reproductive methods.”

Yang Shao paused. Considering how much Chen Qiusu liked children, he…

“We’re not planning for a second child,” Chen Qiusu said in a soft tone, his emotions hard to read.

As they left the hospital, Yang Shao still couldn’t understand why Chen Qiusu would voluntarily give up on having a second child. Chen Qiusu had always been someone who took what came, but now, after having Yang Tao, the idea of a second child was not even on his mind. But Yang Shao thought that Chen Qiusu would at least ask for his opinion before deciding. What could he say after Chen Qiusu had already spoken?

“Hey uhm..” Taking advantage of the car not yet starting, Yang Shao couldn’t help but ask.

Chen Qiusu turned to look at him, “Hm?”

“Don’t you want any more kids?” Yang Shao asked.

Chen Qiusu asked in return, “Do you want them?”

“I don’t.” Yang Shao answered firmly, then added, “Not that I don’t want them. I just don’t want to go through medical procedures to have them.”

For him, when it came to children, he preferred things to happen naturally.

“I don’t want a second child.”

“Why not?” Yang Shao wondered. He understood his own reasons for not wanting a second child, but why didn’t Chen Qiusu?

Chen Qiusu didn’t hurry to start the car. His hand brushed gently over Yang Shao’s hand. “Because… I can’t guarantee that I’ll treat both children equally.”

“Huh?” Yang Shao looked at him in confusion.

“I’ve been separated from you and Yang Tao for five years. I missed your pregnancy and birth, missed Yang Tao’s early years. These are regrets I can never make up for, no matter what I do. I’ll always feel like I owe you both. I can’t help but be biased, and I’m afraid Yang Tao will think my love for him is divided.”

Yang Shao stared at Chen Qiusu in surprise, unsure how to comfort him. He understood what Chen Qiusu meant. When it came to material things, Chen Qiusu would be fair and would even make sacrifices for the children. But when it came to Yang Tao, he would always be his first priority, and that bias was beyond his control.

After saying this, Chen Qiusu felt a sense of relief. “I know, with your personality, you wouldn’t want to use medical methods to have a second child, because that would make it feel like a task. Let nature take its course.”

The arrival of a child should be like love—it shouldn’t be forced. Good things take time, and when the right moment comes, things will naturally fall into place.

Chen Qiusu leaned in and kissed him. After the kiss, his fingers slowly slid between Yang Shao’s, gently tracing the back of his hand. “Do you remember that divination I did before?”

Yang Shao’s lips felt slightly warm. He licked the corner of his mouth. “I remember. Back then, I asked you what it meant, and you just acted all mysterious.”

“We should go fulfill our promise.”

…..

The wedding was set for the end of February, on the private island that Yang Tao’s great-grandmother had gifted him. The wedding invitations were handwritten by Chen Qiusu, who spent an entire day doing so.

Since Yang Shao didn’t like being in the spotlight and didn’t want young Yang Tao exposed to cameras, the Chen family declined all media requests to follow them.

On the wedding day, the sky was clear and cloudless. Yang Shao, accompanied by his uncle, walked toward Chen Qiusu. The wedding rings were presented by Yang Tao to his two dads.

After exchanging the rings, the ceremony included a kiss. Chen Qiusu instinctively covered Yang Tao’s eyes. Then, taking a step forward, he kissed Yang Shao.

Yang Tao climbed up on Chen Qiusu’s hand, and his voice was amplified through the microphone, “Dad! I want to see too!”

The audience burst into laughter, and Yang Shao’s face almost turned red in embarrassment. Yang Tao, this little rascal, it wasn’t enough to just cover his eyes; they needed to cover his mouth too.

As the sun began to set, the wedding was drawing to a close. The streetlights on the island flickered on, casting a warm golden glow over the beach, lit by the last rays of the sun.

Yang Shao had stood for the entire day, changing into several different outfits. He was exhausted. Returning to the room, he took off his coat and laid on the bed to rest. At that moment, the door opened, and Chen Qiusu walked in.

“I’m so tired. I can’t believe getting married is so exhausting. Thank goodness we only do this once in a lifetime.”

Chen Qiusu leaned over and kissed him from his forehead all the way to his chin. “Let’s go.”

“Go where?” Yang Shao asked, confused, remembering the evening banquet.

Without saying a word, Chen Qiusu pulled Yang Shao up, grabbed the coat from the side, and said, “We’re going on our honeymoon.”

“Ah?”

Yang Shao jumped in surprise, but his legs couldn’t help but follow Chen Qiusu’s steps. “Aren’t we going to tell the parents? What about Yang Tao? What about all the guests? Where are we going? How long are we going for?”

The yacht was waiting by the shore. It was clear that Chen Qiusu had planned this in advance. For once, he was letting loose. “Just the two of us. No one knows.”

“But… no! We can’t!” Yang Shao grabbed Chen Qiusu. “I’ll miss the opening of my shop. Grandma picked the opening date for me.”

Chen Qiusu squinted, studying Yang Shao’s face. After a long pause, he finally spoke the words he had been holding back, “Yang Shao, can you be a little more romantic?”

Romantic? How can you be romantic when it delays making money? Can romance be eaten?

Chen Qiusu’s expression froze, his gaze sharp and unwavering. Yang Shao felt like there was no escape. The next second, Chen Qiusu suddenly picked him up and headed straight for the yacht.

“Hey! Chen Qiusu! Put me down!”

The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks completely drowned out Yang Shao’s cries for help.

From this moment on, Chen Qiusu didn’t need Yang Shao to think too much—just follow him.
