UNCLTRD chapter 55

Extra 4

Yang Shao’s fruit shop was doing unbelievably well, all thanks to the young omegas working there. They used live streaming to sell a lot of fruit. Yang Shao, being an “old-fashioned” man, really couldn’t come up with such a sales method.

To show his gratitude and motivate everyone to work harder, Yang Shao raised everyone’s salary. Looking at this month’s earnings, nothing made him happier than making money.

The fruit shop stayed open until 9 PM. Yang Tao finished school around 4 PM, and Chen Qiusu got off work at 5:30 PM. He took Yang Tao to pick up Yang Shao from the shop. When the car stopped by the roadside, he didn’t rush to get out. He slowly rolled down the window and quietly watched Yang Shao laughing and talking with the employees inside the shop.

They had been waiting by the side of the road for almost five minutes, yet Yang Shao didn’t notice them.

“Dad.” Yang Tao looked up at Chen Qiusu’s chin. “Aren’t we getting out?”

Chen Qiusu took a deep breath, his expression a bit serious. He couldn’t help but think of a famous saying: A marriage between an alpha and a beta is built on mutual trust.

It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Yang Shao, but… possessiveness was acting up, and he felt uncomfortable. At this moment, if Yang Shao had paid a little attention to his feelings, everything would have been fine. But he, for some reason, was always so oblivious.

Some other people in the shop noticed the car outside and reminded Yang Shao. Only then did he realize Chen Qiusu and Yang Tao were in the car.

“How long have you been here?” Yang Shao strode over, opened the car door, and Yang Tao jumped out, rushing into his arms. “Son!”

Chen Qiusu didn’t speak, and it was Yang Tao who replied, “About ten minutes!”

“Why didn’t you call me?” Yang Shao said with some complaints, glancing at the shop. He was just a workaholic, and if he left too early, he felt guilty.

Chen Qiusu said calmly, “Let’s go home.”

What’s wrong? Did someone upset him? His tone is so stiff.

Yang Shao felt something was odd but didn’t ask further. After saying goodbye to everyone in the shop, he got in the car with Yang Tao. “Let’s go home.”

After dinner, it was time for family interaction.

Yang Tao had successfully graduated from kindergarten and was now in the preparatory class. The preschool class had lessons on character recognition, teaching only how to recognize characters but not how to write them. The only thing Yang Tao needed to write now was his own name.

However, the characters “杨陶” (Yang Tao) were still a bit too complicated for a child not yet seven years old. Yang Tao had his own insights into Chinese characters. He felt that the ear radical in “陶” (Tao) should be on the right side, just like his beta dad’s name.

Yang Shao had taught him several times, but he got tired of it and called Chen Qiusu over. “You teach him.”

Chen Qiusu was a bit silent that day, but still put down his work and sat next to Yang Tao. The first thing he said was, “The character ‘陶’ is like your dad’s name ‘陈’—the radical is on the left.”

Wasn’t this going to confuse Yang Tao? He had difficulty choosing. Should he follow his alpha dad or his beta dad?

“I know,” Yang Tao said, “I’ll write it with the radical on the left today and on the right tomorrow.”

Yang Shao, lying on the bed, laughed so hard that he curled up. “You’re calling the shots now?”

But sadly, Chen Qiusu didn’t laugh or get angry. He just paused for a moment, then patiently demonstrated for Yang Tao.

Something felt off. Yang Shao held his phone, glancing at Chen Qiusu out of the corner of his eye. Wasn’t Chen Qiusu talking a little less than usual? Normally, he would talk a lot.

Yang Shao tried to think back to when Chen Qiusu might have gotten upset. Everything seemed normal, right? Oh! It had been off since the afternoon when he came to pick him up. At that time, Chen Qiusu didn’t get out of the car.

After Yang Tao finished writing, the aunt took him to wash up. Yang Shao wasn’t the type to hide his feelings and didn’t want to guess. He directly asked.

“What’s wrong with you?”

When Yang Shao asked, Chen Qiusu didn’t know how to answer. On the way back home, Yang Shao had been talking non-stop about the shop. Yang Shao was willing to share with him, not hiding anything. If he had too many negative emotions towards Yang Shao, it would seem petty and unnecessary.

He blurted out, “I can’t mark you.”

“Did you take the wrong medicine?” Yang Shao was confused. What was going on? Why would Chen Qiusu suddenly say something like this? Was he just now realizing he couldn’t mark him?

Chen Qiusu went silent again.

Yang Shao gritted his teeth and studied Chen Qiusu’s face. Not being able to mark an omega was a deeply insecure issue for an alpha. They could become sensitive and cautious in an instant. Chen Qiusu was a withered flower, a dried-up fish—too delicate.

“Hmm.” Yang Shao stood up and took a step forward. “Is your heat coming soon?”

Chen Qiusu and Yang Tao were the same in some ways. Yang Shao found it annoying when they got dramatic, but most of the time, he still felt sorry for them.

Yang Shao tested the temperature of Chen Qiusu’s cheek with the back of his hand. It wasn’t hot.

Chen Qiusu grabbed Yang Shao’s hand and pulled him into his arms. That night, he was a little resentful, so he was a bit rougher in bed than usual.

Yang Shao lay on the bed, cursing inwardly, I knew it. This whole drama was just for some action in bed. Pitying an alpha is like asking for trouble!
