The man in white did not give Mi Dao a moment to explain and immediately swung his sword towards him.

Mi Dao internally cursed and hastily let go of his grip, pushing himself up to narrowly avoid his obedient son’s strike.

At this moment, there was a loud “bang” as Sheng Yiling’s head collided sharply with the coffin lid.

Mi Dao, who was mid-air, thought to himself: “…”

His obedient son, still holding the sword, stood frozen: “…”

Mi Dao silently swallowed and awkwardly said, “Uh, senior brother, I didn’t mean to…”

“Demon Lord, surrender your life!”

And so, the two of them began to chase and fight inside the wide ice cave—but no, that’s not quite right.

Mi Dao had just been severely injured by his obedient son’s blood-seal barrier, and now, under the furious attack from his son, there was only one option left: run.

While desperately dodging, Mi Dao was mentally urging, “System Dad! Are you done yet?! I can’t hold on much longer!”

The system finally responded, “Ding! Character Sheng Yiling has absorbed the former Demon Lord’s inner core, Completion +5%, current script completion is 91%.”

“What?! Only 5%?!”

Mi Dao was stunned, “Didn’t Sheng Yiling come back to life?!”

The system explained, “The system calculated based on the current relationships between characters that the host’s hidden plot has not been completed.”

“You’re not playing fair!” Mi Dao suddenly felt like crying, overwhelmed with frustration.

At this moment, the man in white struck with his sword again. Mi Dao failed to dodge in time, and the sharp blade pierced through his left shoulder.

System: “Ding! Warning, HP reduced to 10%, please pay attention to your health!”

Mi Dao, in excruciating pain, was cursing under his breath. If the script completion wasn’t met now, and he lost his life, the entire script would have to be reset from the beginning.

Thinking about all the time he had spent in this cultivation story, Mi Dao wailed, “System Dad, please save me…”

The system cheerfully responded. “Host, you can do it! We’re rooting for you!”

Mi Dao: “…”

“Ye Wushang!” The man in white’s eyes turned bloodshot with rage. He threw a spell that firmly pinned Mi Dao in place, and then drew his sword, the dripping tip aimed directly at Mi Dao’s face.

The man in white paused for a moment, and his gaze towards Mi Dao was filled not only with hatred but also with regret.

Mi Dao caught the hesitation in his eyes and hurriedly said, “Senior brother…”

“Shut up! Don’t call me that anymore!”

Mi Dao froze, his eyes filled with indescribable sorrow.

The man in white and Mi Dao locked eyes for a moment, then the man gritted his teeth and said resolutely, “This time, I will avenge my parents, my elders, and my fallen brothers from the Sun Heaven Sect!”

Saying that, his sword intent surged, and he struck down fiercely.

Mi Dao, with no desire to live, thought, “…Oh no, it’s over, I’m done for.”

Just as Mi Dao gave up on struggling and was about to close his eyes, a loud “clang” sounded as the sword intent in front of him was blocked by someone.

Mi Dao opened his eyes and saw who was standing in front of him. He was momentarily stunned before mentally spamming comments:

“Aaahhhh, what kind of handsome badass is Wei Yaoshuo?!!! So damn hot! I’m in love!”

Wei Yaoshuo was holding a sword, protecting Mi Dao with his body. Dark demonic energy swirled around him, and the tension in his back exuded an overwhelming sense of anger.

The man in white was forced back a few steps. He looked up, clearly shocked by the person who had arrived. In disbelief, he asked, “Ah Shuo! What are you doing?!”

Before he could finish his question, he saw Wei Yaoshuo’s blood-red eyes. He gasped, heartbroken, and said, “Ah Shuo, you… you’ve fallen to the demonic path!”

Wei Yaoshuo looked at the man in white, smiling coldly, “Sect Leader, you’re mistaken. I was always a demon. What do you mean ‘falling into the demonic path’?”

As soon as his words fell, Wei Yaoshuo attacked, so fast that only a shadow remained.

Mi Dao was stunned by Wei Yaoshuo’s words.

“…What?”

Wei Yaoshuo was a demon?! This was never mentioned in the script! What the hell!

In the original plot, even if Wei Yaoshuo turned dark after falling for the female lead, he only became a heart demon, corrupted into a demonic cultivator. But essentially, he was still human, with no blood relations to the demon clan, and the demon clan storyline didn’t involve him much at all.

Mi Dao: “…System, what did you do to my sweet little plot?”

The system replied, “Since the host saved Wei Yaoshuo and he fell in love with the host, the system made minor adjustments to his background to fit the character design and the subsequent storyline.”

Mi Dao’s face was full of despair, “So this hidden plotline is something I created by accident?!”

The system smiled, “Yes, darling.”

Mi Dao: “…Beautiful people are ruining my life.”

Mi Dao glanced at his dangerously low health bar, hastily used a health potion to bring it back to 30%, and then looked up to see Wei Yaoshuo and the obedient son fiercely battling it out. But the obedient son seemed distracted by Wei Yaoshuo’s identity, so Wei Yaoshuo quickly gained the upper hand.

Wei Yaoshuo struck the man in white in the chest with a palm, sending him flying several meters away.

The man in white coughed up blood and collapsed to the ground, unable to move.

System: “Warning! Warning! Target character is near death! Please take action quickly, host!”

Mi Dao cursed in alarm. After breaking through the obedient son’s blood-seal barrier, he had effectively reduced his health by half. Now facing Wei Yaoshuo in a furious state, how could he possibly win?

As Wei Yaoshuo raised his sword for another strike, Mi Dao hurriedly flew into the path of the sword, shouting, “Ah Shuo, stop!”

Wei Yaoshuo saw who it was and paused. His blood-red eyes were filled with a turbulent killing intent. He stared at Mi Dao for a moment, then smiled coldly, “Swords and knives have no eyes, Ah Shuo doesn’t want to hurt you, senior brother. Would you mind stepping aside?”

“Ah Shuo! You can’t kill him!”

At these words, Wei Yaoshuo’s smile faded. He gripped the sword hilt tightly, his knuckles cracking and veins bulging.

He lowered his eyes and asked in a low voice, “Senior brother, do you really want to protect him like this?”

Mi Dao’s eyes narrowed, and he didn’t answer. After a brief moment, he raised his eyes resolutely, walked up to Wei Yaoshuo, placed his hand over Wei Yaoshuo’s sword hand, and said hoarsely, “Ah Shuo, I’ll go with you.”

Wei Yaoshuo froze.

Mi Dao bit his lip and added, “As long as you don’t kill him, I’ll do whatever you say. I won’t go anywhere.”

Wei Yaoshuo gazed at the determination on Mi Dao’s face, feeling a sharp pain in his chest.

So this is how it is…

Suddenly, Wei Yaoshuo laughed, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. He sheathed his sword and reached up to touch Mi Dao’s face. Mi Dao trembled but didn’t move away.

“Senior brother, do you know?”

He smiled at Mi Dao, his eyes cold, and his grip on Mi Dao’s face tightened. But his voice remained gentle as he whispered, “You’re cruel.”

Mi Dao couldn’t bear to look at him anymore and closed his eyes in pain. Wei Yaoshuo said nothing further, pulling Mi Dao into his arms. With a surge of demonic energy, they both vanished from sight.

The man in white, who had been under Wei Yaoshuo’s overwhelming aura, could barely hold onto his consciousness, but now, he was able to sit up with great effort.

“Senior brother…” A faint voice called from the coffin.

He was shocked, hurriedly rushing over to pick up the woman from the coffin, asking in disbelief, “Yiling?”

Hearing his voice, Sheng Yiling slowly opened her eyes. She looked at him, a tear suddenly falling from the corner of her eye, and trembled as she said, “Senior brother… Senior brother, don’t… it wasn’t Wushang’s fault…”

The man in white stood there, frozen, with no reaction.
