WAYCAV Chapter 42

A tingling, feverish sensation spread through him. Su Zhiyan opened his eyes, his initial surprise melting away under waves of heat as he gradually lost himself in the sensation.

The young man in front of him seemed to sense his reaction, looking at him with dark eyes as he licked his lips, then leaned down to kiss him.

Their lips met.

Su Zhiyan’s pupils shrank slightly, startled by the sudden kiss. He instinctively opened his mouth, allowing something warm and slick to slip inside, tangling intimately with his own.

“!”

He struggled weakly, wanting to lift his hands to push away the person on top of him, but found his body limp and powerless.

As if sensing his resistance, the lingering kiss suddenly became fierce, full of aggression.

Their lips and tongues burned hot, tangling together insatiably like they were never satisfied, ffilled with desire and longing that seemed endless.

Su Zhiyan nearly suffocated from the intensity. He couldn’t help but turn his head to break free.

He gasped for air. The moment cool air filled his lungs, his lips were captured again.

He felt his lips being sucked and nibbled, warm and wet. His whole body sank deep into the soft pillow, passively enduring the assault.

The ambiguous sounds of kissing kept getting louder in his ears. His face burned hotter by the, his scalp tingling.

A soft moan escaped him.

“What’s wrong?” The young man sucked on the tip of his tongue, asking in a muffled voice, “Does something hurt?”

His voice was low and hoarse, full of desire.

The words sent an electric jolt through Su Zhiyan, his whole body trembling as his vision gradually became clear.

He saw Shen Nianjing watching him with dark, smoldering eyes full of restrained passion.

His hands were firmly pinned down, his legs restrained, unable to move at all.

Su Zhiyan’s heart jumped in alarm, and he instinctively closed his eyes.

“Fuck!”

He bolted upright in bed, chest heaving as he gasped for air.

Su Zhiyan stared blankly at the sunlight streaming through the window, taking a long while to figure out clearly…

This was reality now, not a dream.

He turned to look at Wen Bei on the opposite bed. This guy’s sleep quality was even better than his mental state, falling asleep the moment he closed his eyes, wouldn’t wake up even if there was an earthquake.

Sure enough, Wen Bei was hugging his blanket with his eye mask properly on his face, snoring loudly, obviously still deep in sleep, completely unaffected by his loud shout just now.

Tuesday morning at nine o’clock. They had no morning class today, so they hadn’t set any alarms.

Su Zhiyan turned back, staring blankly for a moment before putting his hands to his cheeks.

His skin was burning hot.

“…”

Fuck.

That single word echoed chaotically in his mind.

As the heat in his cheeks gradually subsided and his scrambled thoughts settled down, he finally grasped the reality of the situation.

He had dreamed about kissing Shen Nianjing.

An incredibly deep, intimate French kiss at that.

The silent yet domineering person from the dream still seemed to linger in front of him, hands pressed against his waist, holding him down tightly.

“…”

Su Zhiyan slowly pulled the blanket over his head, burying himself completely.

Ah, how warm and safe the blanket felt. Like a tomb.

He recalled Wen Bei once saying their dorm beds were as secure as coffin lids, each sleep like a trip to heaven.

Back then Su Zhiyan thought his comparison was accurate but too morbid, but now…

He wished he could just bury himself with this coffin board and be done with it!

Bullshit! Absolute bullshit!

Was Shen Nianjing’s mouth some kind of blessed artifact? How could his dream ‘evolve’ just because that bastard said so? Didn’t they say no spirits were allowed after the founding of the country? How was there still a bastard like Shen Nianjing running around free!

Su Zhiyan slowly lifted his head, his lips twitching.

He wanted to call the police.

Before, when he dreamed, he only knew Shen Nianjing was on top of him. All he could feel was heat and how long it lasted, at most occasionally seeing Shen Nianjing’s eyes and the mole on his hand. But compared to participating, he was more like coldly watching from a first-person perspective.

But now he could not only see Shen Nianjing’s face and expression clearly, he could even…

Su Zhiyan clutched the blanket tighter, shuddering.

What if this dream kept evolving… what would he do?

He didn’t know how much time passed before Su Zhiyan heard Wen Bei seem to turn over on his side, then yawn, followed by a earth-shaking “HOLY SHIT!” that went straight to his soul.

“Su Zhiyan!!” Wen Bei suddenly woke up, his face full of terror. “W-w-what are you doing sitting there like a ghost?!”

The moment he opened his eyes, he saw a lifeless figure sitting motionless on the bed. His sanity dropped by half instantly.

“Halloween is next week, right? Are you that excited about it?!” Wen Bei said with a trembling voice.

Su Zhiyan snapped back to reality, looking at Wen Bei’s very colorful expression, suddenly feeling incredibly moved.

Look, this was what a normal good buddy was like.

Normal good buddies would absolutely never invade your dreams, at most they’d go on adventures with you in dreams or blow up the school together.

Normal good buddies wouldn’t forcefully kiss you in dreams.

Normal good buddies wouldn’t breathe softly in your ear.

And they definitely wouldn’t pin your waist down with both hands so you couldn’t move at all.

Su Zhiyan stared at Wen Bei without saying a word, his vision gradually blurring.

“Are… are you crying????” Wen Bei’s jaw almost dropped in shock. He threw off his blanket and crawled to the edge of his bed, not believing his own eyes.

“No.” Su Zhiyan blinked away the tears in his eyes. “I just suddenly felt…”

“You’re really a good person.” He sighed with emotion.

Wen Bei: “?”

Getting a good person card from his buddy first thing in the morning without doing anything?

“Hehe.” He laughed shamelessly a couple times. “You’re a good person too.”

On the way to the classroom that afternoon, Su Zhiyan felt a bit nervous.

The sudden unexpected evolution of his dream left him confused. Yesterday he had clearly made contact with Shen Nianjing, since they sat together in class, they had even made contact more than once.

So why was he still having dreams? And why more vivid, realistic and detailed than ever?

Walking into the classroom, Su Zhiyan’s gaze swept around and immediately met eyes with Shen Nianjing who was sitting in the center row.

His eyelid twitched. He suddenly wanted to turn around and leave.

“Come on, why are you just standing there?”

Wen Bei almost bumped into Su Zhiyan. Seeing him frozen in place, he asked confused, “Are you not feeling well again?”

Not feeling well—

These three words were like a landmine. Su Zhiyan’s sensitive nerves were suddenly triggered, and he whipped around and blurted out, “I’m fine!”

The people in the front few rows immediately looked over with curiosity.

Su Zhiyan: “…”

He just realized his voice had been a bit loud, and nodded apologetically. “Sorry.”

Wen Bei stared, stunned. This was the first time he’d seen Su Zhiyan like this.

Like a small animal whose tail had been stepped on.

“Are you really not feeling uncomfortable?” he asked sincerely.

After all, his good buddy said he was a good person. If Su Zhiyan just said he wasn’t feeling good, Wen Bei would totally help him sign in!

Oh right, Su Zhiyan was the academy’s famous top student. There wasn’t anyone who didn’t know him.

No problem! He could take all the blame!

“Really not…”

As they walked to the middle and got closer and closer to Shen Nianjing, Su Zhiyan’s voice got weaker and weaker. “You d-don’t need to worry.”

From the moment they walked into the classroom, Shen Nianjing’s gaze had been steadily fixed on Su Zhiyan.

Seeing them walk over, he stood up to let Wen Bei sit inside, then sat down between Su Zhiyan and Wen Bei.

“What happened to you just now?” He turned his face to ask Su Zhiyan, his voice low but very gentle.

Su Zhiyan: “…”

You still have the nerve to ask!
Why am I the one suffering when you’re the one who jinxed it?!

Su Zhiyan clenched his fists.

“I brought you cookies, I baked them at home last night. They’re cranberry flavor, not sweet at all.” Seeing Su Zhiyan ignore him, Shen Nianjing pulled out a box of cookies from his bag like magic. When he opened the box, a sweet cookie aroma wafted out.

“What’s that? Smells so good.”

Wen Bei looked around before his gaze locked onto what was in Shen Nianjing’s hands.

“Great, you two are eating good stuff behind my back!” His eyes lit up, practically drooling.

When there was no early morning class, he could never sleep enough, wishing he could become one with his bed. Very few people would get up early to eat breakfast, but by the second class you could really feel the power of breakfast, because breakfast was something you didn’t notice when you ate it, but you’d really be hungry if you didn’t.

“Hehehe.” Wen Bei’s claws reached toward the crispy sweet cookies.

Then the cookie box made a 180-degree dodge around his hand.

Wen Bei: “?”

He looked at Shen Nianjing in shock.

Shen Nianjing side-eyed him. “These are for Su Zhiyan.”

Wen Bei: “…”

Wen Bei: “??????”

Wait, bro?
What did I just hear?????

He looked in horror at Su Zhiyan whose expression was like he’d swallowed a fly, then at Shen Nianjing who looked smug while fiercely guarding his food.

“…” He seemed to understand something.

“Okay, I get it.” Wen Bei immediately became smart, giving Shen Nianjing meaningful looks.

Go for it, bro. He’d sacrifice himself for the sake of his buddies’ love.

What could he say? He was just a good person!

“Eat it, I’m not hungry.” Su Zhiyan said in a muffled voice.

Wen Bei: “!”

“?” Shen Nianjing turned around in surprise, hesitated for a moment, then held up a cookie and brought it to Su Zhiyan’s mouth. “It’s really good, don’t worry, I tried it many times!”

“…” Su Zhiyan looked with complicated eyes at Shen Nianjing who looked eager to try.

He had just adjusted his weird emotions from having that dream, but meeting this guy made him feel restless again.

Was Shen Nianjing his natural nemesis?

“I won’t eat it!” Su Zhiyan’s tone was firm, stiffly turning his head back to seriously read his book.

“Then I will!” Wen Bei quickly snatched the cookies from Shen Nianjing’s hands, tossed a piece in his mouth. It was crispy with a lingering fragrance.

“Holy shit, Shen Nianjing, you’ve got skills!”

Wen Bei gave him thumbs up in amazement.

Shen Nianjing: “…”

He slowly turned his head, looking with a smile at Wen Bei who was eating happily.

If looks could kill, Wen Bei’s body would already be full of holes.

This was the first successful batch of cookies he made after trying countless recipes for three whole days at home!!!

“Is that so.” He gritted his teeth. “I think so too.”

Then he turned to look at Su Zhiyan, his gaze quiet and focused.

“If you don’t like cookies.” He slowly leaned closer, his voice low and magnetic as it reached Su Zhiyan’s ears, “I can also try making little cakes.”

Warm breath ghosted over his cheek.

“…” Su Zhiyan gripped his pen tightly.

Damn bastard!
Don’t get so close to me!!!!
