Mr. Liu hadn’t expected someone to suddenly appear.
The young man in front of him was gripping his wrist forcefully, staring at him with a threatening, warning gaze for a moment before tossing his hand away like garbage.
His force was a bit strong, causing Mr. Liu to stagger half a step backward.
He remembered this face.
Yan Jie, the only son of the Yan family. Ten years ago, instead of properly inheriting the family business, he insisted on pursuing esports, which had caused quite a stir in their circles at the time. Most of the gossip was about how the old man of the Yan family must have been furious, having raised such a willful and unruly second-generation heir.
Ten years later, such idle talk had diminished, and few people mentioned the Yan family’s only son anymore.
Because now, when Mr. Liu heard others mention him, he was generally referred to as Spring.
The assistant who was helping take the photo lowered the phone, looking a bit confused, unsure if the photo could still be taken.
With so many eyes around, making a scene would be difficult to resolve, so Mr. Liu didn’t pursue the matter. He just smiled politely at Yan Jie:
“We weren’t talking about anything special, I just wanted to take a photo with Teacher Jiang. Would Mr. Yan like to join us?”
“Oh-are you done?” Yan Jie looked at the assistant holding the phone, and without waiting for a response, he continued:
“Done? Good if you’re done.”
“…”
Then, he turned to Jiang Nan’an beside him, his expression changing like a Sichuan opera face-changing performance. One second he was wearing a fake smile with “I don’t care who you are, get lost” written all over his face, and the next second he was as warm and gentle as a pool of water:
“I’d also like to take a photo with Teacher Jiang, is that okay?”
Jiang Nan’an looked at Mr. Liu, then at Yan Jie, and naturally wouldn’t refuse, nodding his head.
“That’s great, Little Spring is so honored! Come, let’s go somewhere else. There are too many irrelevant people here, the environment is dirty and messy, really annoying.”
After speaking, Yan Jie lightly patted Jiang Nan’an’s shoulder, leading him past Mr. Liu as if he didn’t exist, walking in another direction.
The venue was crowded, with guests and artists chatting and laughing everywhere.
Yan Jie led Jiang Nan’an to a slightly less crowded corner, leaned against a pillar, looked down at him, and asked:
“Did he bully you?”
“It’s fine.” Jiang Nan’an told him honestly:
“He and his boss wanted to proposition me, to be my sugar daddy and keep me. I refused. Maybe he was embarrassed and angry, so he sexually harassed me during the photo.”
It’s a good thing Yan Jie wasn’t drinking water, otherwise he might have choked to death.
Teacher Jiang’s way of speaking-saying whatever was on his mind without any embellishment or concealment-always brought unexpected surprises.
“Ahem… you know about these things?”
“?” Jiang Nan’an was a bit speechless:
“Why wouldn’t I know? Do I have intellectual problems?”
After a pause, Jiang Nan’an raised an eyebrow slightly and added:
“Didn’t you say that kind of behavior is called sexual harassment, or did I misunderstand?”
“No… you’re not wrong, I didn’t mean… never mind.” Yan Jie smiled helplessly, about to change the subject when he noticed Jiang Nan’an staring at him intently, as if observing something.
Noticing this, he raised his eyebrows:
“What is it? Why are you looking at me? Do you think I look handsome today?”
“No.” Jiang Nan’an hesitated for a moment before asking:
“Were you angry just now?”
“…” Yan Jie thought back and nodded:
“Mm-hmm.”
“Did I do something wrong?”
“?”
Yan Jie’s heart melted completely. He wanted to ruffle Jiang Nan’an’s hair, but due to the many eyes around them, he could only sigh softly, cross his arms, and explain:
“I was angry, but not at you. I was angry at that jerk just now. How could I be angry with you?”
As he spoke, he glanced around to make sure no one else was nearby, and lowered his voice:
“Didn’t I tell you before? If it’s your problem, I’ll tell you directly. If I don’t say anything, it means it has nothing to do with you, baby.”
When they weren’t so familiar with each other, Yan Jie used to think Teacher Diao’s personality was really good-freely expressing himself, leaving others speechless while keeping himself comfortable, fearing nothing and caring about nothing. With low emotional intelligence, he couldn’t distinguish whether his behavior and language were appropriate, so he deemed everything appropriate. In interpersonal interactions, he only considered himself, definitely wouldn’t overthink things-Yan Jie couldn’t imagine how relaxed and happy his life must be.
But now, things seemed different from what he had thought.
Because Jiang Nan’an didn’t know if what he did was appropriate, he worried more about whether Yan Jie minded, becoming cautious and insecure in their relationship.
This wasn’t what Yan Jie wanted to see, but it wasn’t Jiang Nan’an’s fault. Ultimately, he hadn’t given Jiang Nan’an enough security.
But why did Jiang Nan’an habitually have such thoughts? He seemed very afraid of making him angry, very afraid of being disliked, very afraid of being left.
Yan Jie didn’t know, and had no way to understand, because Jiang Nan’an didn’t seem willing to tell him much about himself.
This small incident didn’t cause much of a stir. The banquet ended normally, and there was an after-party afterward, but Jiang Nan’an didn’t attend.
It was already late after everything finished, and he had to return to the production set the next day. Qi Hong didn’t want to trouble Jiang Nan’an further and originally planned to send him directly back to the hotel, but the driver had a minor accident on the way, which would cause some delay.
This benefited Yan Jie again. He didn’t notice Qi Hong’s increasingly strange looks toward him; his mind was full of Jiang Nan’an, so he volunteered to take on the driver’s responsibility, safely and quickly escorting the big star back to rest.
There had been too many events tonight, and Qi Hong had neither time nor energy to argue with him, nor did she have the effort to guess his intentions. After all, a free driver shouldn’t be wasted. Qi Hong agreed to his request and didn’t interfere further, only cautioning him to be careful not to be photographed by paparazzi to avoid unnecessary trouble.
Yan Jie already had experience avoiding paparazzi. Today he hadn’t even driven his flashy Ferrari, but switched to a more low-key black Audi.
He had originally sincerely wanted to be a qualified driver, but when Jiang Nan’an sat in his passenger seat, he changed his mind.
“Back to the hotel?” he asked.
“Mm.” Jiang Nan’an fastened his seatbelt and calmly asked in return: “Where else?”
Yan Jie didn’t answer immediately.
He just silently looked at Jiang Nan’an, his gaze somewhat deep.
The outfit Jiang Nan’an was wearing wasn’t borrowed from a brand. According to Qi Hong, it was a one-of-a-kind piece they had bought and customized by a designer. Therefore, they didn’t rush to have Jiang Nan’an change after the banquet and let him wear it back.
So Jiang Nan’an still had the same styling as on the red carpet, the only difference being that he had been wearing the makeup for a while, and his eye makeup was slightly smudged.
“My place isn’t far from here either.”
Yan Jie’s Adam’s apple moved slightly as he started the car and opened the passenger window a bit, finally revealing his true intentions:
“Would you consider staying at my place for the night?”
“…”
Hearing this, Jiang Nan’an fell silent, perhaps weighing the feasibility of this suggestion. After a moment, he quietly responded:
“That works too.”
Yan Jie’s place was indeed not far from here. He drove the car very fast, speeding all the way to the underground garage of the residential complex, and brought Jiang Nan’an home.
Jiang Nan’an had only seen glimpses of Yan Jie’s place during video calls; this was his first time visiting in person.
But as soon as the door opened, before he could carefully look at the place where Yan Jie lived, a pair of arms suddenly embraced him from behind, holding him tightly.
“Bang-”
The door behind him was forcefully closed. Jiang Nan’an was pushed to the side, his back against the wall, as Yan Jie held him and buried his face in the crook of his neck, placing dense kisses.
They hadn’t even turned on the lights in the house. In the darkness, there was only Yan Jie’s warmth and scent. Jiang Nan’an took a deep breath, slowly curled his fingers, and gradually tightened his embrace.
“You look so good today. I wanted to do this from the first moment I saw you this afternoon, I’ve been holding back until now…” Yan Jie pressed against his ear, his soft lips brushing against his earlobe, his magnetic voice and warm breath arriving together.
“Is that why you lured me back to your home?” Jiang Nan’an raised an eyebrow slightly.
Yan Jie chuckled:
“You agreed to it yourself. When both parties are willing, it’s not called luring.”
Jiang Nan’an gently curved the corner of his lips, about to say something more, but the next second, Yan Jie kissed him.
In the darkness, there was only the sound of fabric rubbing against fabric and the soft sounds of kissing.
Jiang Nan’an felt Yan Jie’s warm palm caress through the butterfly wing cutout on the back of his shirt, his thumb deliberately or not rubbing the small mole on his shoulder blade.
The embrace and kisses were intimate and urgent. Yan Jie half-embraced him, fumbling in the dark to find the bedroom, and led him inside.
Upon entering, Yan Jie wrapped his arm around Jiang Nan’an’s waist and lifted him up directly, going straight in and throwing him onto the bed.
The sensor light at the bedside lit up, illuminating Jiang Nan’an’s tousled hair, his slightly reddened lips, and his wet eyes with smudged makeup that truly looked as if tears had flowed.
This image was too lethal for him. It was as if something snapped in Yan Jie’s mind.
His breath caught, and he immediately leaned down, pressing against Jiang Nan’an and kissing him again.
Jiang Nan’an was kissed by Yan Jie until he almost lost all sensation. He felt as if he had been pushed into the deep sea, his heart beating rapidly, as if he might drown in the kiss at any moment.
He could only feel Yan Jie’s breath and scent.
The sensor light at the bedside brightened and dimmed, and after being dark for a while, it lit up again.
Who knows how long this endless kiss continued. At some point, Jiang Nan’an’s body suddenly stiffened almost imperceptibly, and Yan Jie seemed to sense something too. He released him, propped himself up, and looked downward.
When he saw Jiang Nan’an’s physical reaction in the light, he raised one eyebrow and chuckled softly:
“Oh?”
“…” Jiang Nan’an felt somewhat uncomfortable with his teasing tone.
The tips of his ears reddened slightly, and after a moment of silence, he said:
“Let me go.”
“Hmm?”
“I need to shower.”
“No.”
Yan Jie mischievously pressed down on his abdomen, preventing him from moving, and leaned down to kiss the tip of his ear, asking:
“Have you ever been like this… before?”
“Of course.”
“How did you deal with it?”
“…” This question caught Jiang Nan’an off guard:
“I just leave it alone, and it goes away after a while.”
He wasn’t particularly interested in these matters. Previous occurrences had only been normal morning physiological reactions for men, which would subside if left alone, but now…
“You’ve never taken care of it? Never done it yourself?”
“No.”
Yan Jie laughed again.
Jiang Nan’an didn’t understand what was so funny about this. He pushed Yan Jie:
“Get up.”
“No.”
Yan Jie’s lips touched his cheek, his voice very low:
“Do you know what this means?” Without waiting for Jiang Nan’an to answer, he announced the answer himself:
“It means you desire me now. I’m very happy.”
Yan Jie’s voice had somehow become a bit hoarse, and combined with his gentle tone, it took on a somewhat bewitching quality:
“You’re in a relationship now, you don’t have to wait for it to disappear on its own… Let me help you, okay?”
“You…” These words hit Jiang Nan’an’s blind spot, and for a moment he didn’t know how to respond.
“Okay?” Yan Jie pressed on.
Jiang Nan’an averted his gaze, not looking into Yan Jie’s eyes.
He gently pressed his lips together, and when he spoke again, his voice was much lower:
“…Whatever you want.”
The bedside light dimmed again.
Several buttons on Jiang Nan’an’s shirt had already been undone. In the darkness, he felt Yan Jie’s warm fingertips deftly unfastening the remaining buttons one by one, then moving downward.
Jiang Nan’an’s breath trembled as he propped himself up on his elbows, hardly daring to move.
Later, he heard a rustling sound as Yan Jie got off the bed.
The warm yellow light came on again, the scene reflected in his eyes.
Jiang Nan’an’s pupils quivered slightly.
He saw Yan Jie kneeling beside the bed, seemingly curving his lips in a smile at him. Before he could voice any objection, Yan Jie lowered his head without the slightest hesitation.
