RRMGEH Chapter 1

What Disease?

Dr. Liu’s expression was far from good. He pushed a medical report in front of Gu Changheng and said, “Young Master Gu, this is your medical report. Please take a look.”

Seeing Dr. Liu’s serious look, Gu Changheng took the report and skimmed through it. There were a lot of medical terms. He didn’t have the patience to read it and asked directly, “Just tell me what’s wrong with me. What disease do I have?”

Dr. Liu furrowed his brow and pointed to the conclusion on the medical report, which read: HIV antibody test result is positive.

Gu Changheng didn’t understand what “positive” or “negative” meant in this, but he could recognize the word “HIV.” His smile stiffened.

He looked up at Dr. Liu and tried to sound relaxed. “You’re kidding, right? I have HIV?”

Dr. Liu nodded. “Based on the test results, it’s been over six months.”

Gu Changheng’s mind went blank in an instant, and the frozen smile on his face vanished. “Over six months?”

As he walked out of the hospital, Gu Changheng sat in his car with legs still weak. He tried several times to press the accelerator and start the car, but he couldn’t manage it.

Dr. Liu’s words were somewhat comforting. “Young Master Gu, having HIV doesn’t mean you’ll die quickly. As long as you cooperate with the treatment, exercise, and avoid getting sick, with current medical advances, we can help you live longer.”

In the circle of rich second and third generations, casual relationships and group sex were common. Some of them who played wildly contracted STDs or HIV and became jokes in the circle, but Gu Changheng had never thought this would happen to him.

It wasn’t luck.

He simply wasn’t a promiscuous person.

For twenty-eight years, he had only loved Zhao Yunfeng sincerely, and he had only slept with him.

Heh, HIV.

When Zhao Yunfeng returned home, he found that all the lights in the house were off. Gu Changheng was sitting on the couch in the dark and browsing the web on his phone.

He had been reading about HIV and AIDS on various forums.

The light from the phone illuminated Gu Changheng’s expressionless face, making him look somewhat frightening. Zhao Yunfeng raised his hand and flipped the switch with a “click”. The whole living room was instantly filled with light.

“Why aren’t the lights on?” Zhao Yunfeng asked.

Gu Changheng put away his phone, collected himself, looked up and asked, “Where have you been? Why are you back so late?”

The wall clock showed it was already midnight.

Zhao Yunfeng’s company finished work at five in the afternoon.

Zhao Yunfeng explained, “The company has been in trouble recently and facing the risk of bankruptcy every day. If I don’t socialize, what else can I do? I wish I could stay home with you all day, but there are conditions to doing that.”

Gu Changheng wanted to say something but swallowed his words and said, “I’m not in a good mood today and couldn’t cook. I ordered takeout for you, it’s in the kitchen. You can heat it up in the microwave.”

Zhao Yunfeng’s expression suddenly darkened. “How can you only do this much while staying at home all day? Are you a grown man with hands and feet just eating for free at home?” He added, “I can’t stand takeout. You go to the kitchen and cook for me.”

Gu Changheng lowered his eyelashes, stood up from the couch, and walked to the kitchen.

Zhao Yunfeng sat on the couch, crossing his legs and playing a mobile game. Soon, he suddenly heard a clattering noise coming from the kitchen.
