Duan Kai deleted that video right in front of the counselor, feeling as though he had completely lost all the dignity he had ever had in his life.

If word got out, and his ex-girlfriend Wu Wei found out that he had secretly filmed Zhou Zefeng taking a shower, he really wouldn’t know how to face anyone anymore.

To make matters worse, Zhou Zefeng had to bring up the one topic he should have avoided; his ex-girlfriend. What Zhou Zefeng didn’t know was just how many times Wu Wei had sought Duan Kai out because of him, or how often she had cried and caused a scene over the whole ordeal.

Lying on his bed in the dorm, Duan Kai recalled how, back when Wu Wei was dating him, she had tried every means possible to persuade him to introduce her to his roommates. Meeting them wasn’t enough; she even said she wanted to add them as friends, claiming it was so the roommates could keep an eye on Duan Kai and stay in touch with her at any time. Fortunately, Zhou Zefeng had a tournament to play in during that dinner gathering and didn’t go; otherwise, Duan Kai would have been even more humiliated.

Thinking back on it now, Wu Wei had probably already had a change of heart by then; or perhaps she had never liked Duan Kai at all, and being with him was just a way to get close to Zhou Zefeng. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have relentlessly confessed her feelings to Zhou Zefeng just a week after breaking up with him.

What made Duan Kai even angrier was that Zhou Zefeng had rejected her.

Duan Kai had shown Zhou Zefeng photos of Wu Wei, yet when Wu Wei asked him if he remembered who she was, he had no impression of her whatsoever.

In Duan Kai’s eyes, Wu Wei was the art academy’s department beauty; the one he had spent an entire semester pursuing before finally managing to win her over. To satisfy her desire to buy this and that, he had even used his status as a student-athlete to become an online porn star and sell his worn items. The person he treasured most and held closest to his heart was nothing but a passerby in Zhou Zefeng’s eyes.

Later, when Zhou Zefeng was injured during a match and went abroad to recuperate, a secret sense of pleasure and schadenfreude grew in Duan Kai’s heart.

During the year Zhou Zefeng took a leave of absence from school, Wu Wei had kept in touch with Duan Kai on and off. He admitted he still had lingering feelings for Wu Wei, and the two had been in an ambiguous relationship for a year. Zhou Zefeng’s return to school, however, brought everything right back to square one.

When Wu Wei indirectly pried for information about Zhou Zefeng, the resentment and dissatisfaction in Duan Kai’s heart peaked. However, he was a coward and didn’t actually do anything to Zhou Zefeng. He just knew that Zhou Zefeng was homophobic, so he deliberately stole his underwear and socks to sell to men. Later, a buyer offered extra payment for a video. He had originally intended to casually record something and be done with it, until Zhou Zefeng went with him into the public shower at the swimming pool after training.

Perhaps driven by a momentary lapse of judgment, Duan Kai hid in the shadows, secretly filmed the scene, sent the video to the buyer, and at the same time uploaded it to Twitter.

That video gained him a lot of followers. Looking at the comments below, he felt jealous, but he also experienced a strange, thrilling satisfaction from seeing Zhou Zefeng being desecrated.

He had wanted to find an opportunity to secretly film him again, but he hadn’t expected the matter to come to light so quickly and even reach the counselor.

Afterward, Zhou Zefeng had hypocritically invited him out for drinks. Once completely sober, Duan Kai looked at Zhou Zefeng’s refined, gentlemanly demeanor, and the jealousy and resentment in his heart only deepened. Zhou Zefeng’s thoughtless words stung Duan Kai even more, tearing away his poorly concealed disguise; he wasn’t gay, yet he was pretending to be gay on Twitter.

Upon returning to the dorm, Duan Kai received a WeChat message from Wu Wei, who had clearly caught wind of the incident.

[Duan Kai, you’re actually…? I thought it was just a stereotype that there are a lot of gays in the sports academy, but I guess we can be sisters from now on! [giggle]]

This was the final straw that broke the camel’s back for Duan Kai.

Duan Kai closed WeChat and opened Twitter. The first direct message he saw was from an edging master he followed.

[The person in the video isn’t you, right?]

Having his bluff called, Duan Kai typed and deleted in the chat box before finally sending a [?].

Lu Zhao didn’t answer, only asking: [Why did you delete the video?]

[I deleted it because I wanted to. You say the person in the video isn’t me, so wouldn’t a meetup settle it?]

Lu Zhao was somewhat surprised.

[Sure, are you in G City too?]

[Yes.]

[Let’s get this straight first then, I will be recording.]

[I know, and I like showing my face, so don’t blur it out when you upload it,] Duan Kai typed out the message and hit send, his heart feeling entirely numb as he did so. [Also, I have a little fetish. I like to pretend to be innocent and clueless, just consider it a form of cosplay.]

Lu Zhao grumbled inwardly, thinking this fetish was bizarre enough.

[OK, I’m busy these next few days. I’ll send you the address in a couple of days.]

Duan Kai logged off Twitter, thinking to himself: Aren’t you homophobic? I’m going to make you suffer social death.

When Lu Zhao saw Zhou Zefeng, he was certain that this was the person Duan Kai had recommended.

The young man before him appeared to be in his early twenties, looking every bit the college student. He carried a bright, wholesome aura, possessed strikingly handsome features, and seemed so youthful that his skin almost radiated with vitality. Though he was wearing a hoodie and loose, knee-length shorts, it wasn’t hard to see the muscles lying dormant beneath his clothes.

Lu Zhao gave Zhou Zefeng a slow once-over from head to toe, involuntarily picturing how he might look without his clothes on.

After leading him up to the second floor, the guy was still looking around like a clueless fool. Every other person Lu Zhao had hooked up with before had always been perfectly smooth and compliant. Just as Lu Zhao was about to lose his patience, he remembered what this guy had said a few days ago—”I like to play innocent.”

Fine, then I’ll play along with you.

He hadn’t expected Zhou Zefeng to mistake him for an old traditional Chinese medicine doctor specializing in insomnia. Lu Zhao nearly failed to recover from the shock, but once he came to his senses, he began making things up on the spot without missing a beat.

When Lu Zhao told him to remove his clothes and sit down, Zhou Zefeng froze once more, only managing to stammer, “Aren’t insomnia treatments usually things like cupping, acupuncture, or massage? Why do I need to take my clothes off?”

“Are you going to do cupping, acupuncture, and massage through your clothes?”

“……”

Zhou Zefeng was convinced. He took off his shirt, revealing a body of perfect muscles, and then cast an inquiring look at Lu Zhao.

Lu Zhao glanced toward his lower half and tipped up his chin, the implication unmistakably clear.

In the end, Zhou Zefeng stripped down until he was left with only a pair of underwear and sat on the sofa by the window.

Lu Zhao was occupied with something behind him. Before long, a faint citrus scent wafted through the air. When he turned to look, he saw that Lu Zhao had lit a scented candle.

Zhou Zefeng snorted inwardly. This so-called Doctor Lao of traditional Chinese medicine might be young, but he was actually pretty good at what he did. He genuinely felt a bit more relaxed now. Could it be because taking off his clothes made him feel closer to nature? Or was there something magical about this sofa? He’d have to ask for the purchase link later.

Probably because he hadn’t gotten enough sleep last night, Zhou Zefeng actually dozed off while thinking. However, the pain in his wrists soon roused him from his brief sleep. Startled, he shifted slightly, only to realize he couldn’t free himself.

To his horror, he discovered that Lu Zhao had actually tied him up?!
