Incurable Pain

When Bai Xunyin graduated from junior high school, she unintentionally experienced a traumatic event that left her unable to speak, turning her into a ‘mute’ by circumstance. During her first year of high school, she endured the ridicule, discrimination, and bullying of those around her.

It wasn’t until her second year of high school that Bai Xunyin encountered Yu Luoyin. He was refined and elegant, with sharp eyebrows and starry eyes – the most handsome guy in school and the dream of all the girls.

But for Bai Xunyin, Yu Luoyin was the first person who protected her, smiled at her, helped her with her studies, and had lunch with her.

The ambiguous feelings of their youth surged and blurred. In Bai Xunyin’s diary during her second year of high school, the name ‘Yu Luoyin’ filled its pages. She didn’t expect Yu Luoyin to like her in return. However, in their third year of high school, she accidentally saw his ‘true face’ around a corner in the hallway.

Beneath Yu Luoyin’s refined and elegant exterior was a deceptive individual. He laughed with his two careless friends and said, “The mute girl has started to like me. I bet it won’t be long before I get tired of her.”

Bai Xunyin couldn’t speak, but her eyes could cry. Since that day, she never looked Yu Luoyin in the eye again. Until the moment when Yu Luoyin, after trying various methods including mockery, ridicule, table slamming, apologies, and even self-harm, had to kneel in front of Bai Xunyin.

With red-rimmed eyes and hoarse voice, he pleaded, “Yinyin, forgive me once. I’ll never dare again in this lifetime.”

*You are the pain that I cannot put into words. It hurts when I remember, yet it hurts even more when I forget.
