逆转 (Reverse) – 莲鹤夫人

Chapter 1

In a typical ABO society, alphas hold absolute dominance. Omegas are treated as nothing more than reproductive resources, firmly controlled by alphas—without freedom, without human rights, without access to proper education. Their sole purpose in life is to carry swollen bellies and give birth, over and over again.

As a pawn of his family, the omega was married off to a high-ranking official with an explosive temper. At first, he had daydreamed of a happy marriage and spending his old age with him. But his husband treated him like a pet—a beautiful, fertile canary. When the alpha was in a good mood, he would bring him closer and cuddle with him for a bit. When he wasn’t, he could leave him without mercy, even during his heat, leaving him crying and shaking, desperate and crazed with hunger for alpha pheromones. His husband, who was a top-tier alpha, would sometimes watch him cry and fall on the floor, amused. Only he could push an omega to the point of misery; no omega could enslave or control him.

The omega eventually gave up hope. Instead of wishing for his husband’s love, he decided to be the perfect titular wife. He kept his lashes lowered in front of his husband, even when he smiled, never daring to look too long at the alpha who was, by name, his. His husband was satisfied with this—convinced that he was, indeed, a well-trained canary.

Then one day, a mysterious virus spread rapidly among the alphas.

That day, the omega went for a walk. When he got home, a powerful scent hit him. It was his husband’s cold, controlling pheromones, but much stronger, almost knocking him over.

The scent led him directly to his own bedroom. His husband had always treated him like someone who could be called when it was convenient and ignored when it wasn’t. When the alpha was busy at work, the omega never bothered him, instead silently rolling up his blanket and retiring to a small room to sleep. Over time, that room had become his.

The small room door was open. The omega stopped at the door, eyes wide in shock.

His closet had been thrown open, with clothes scattered all over the place. Most of them had been pulled out and piled on top of each other. His tall, powerful husband was curled up on the small bed, surrounded by the omega’s worn clothes like a nest, snuggled in the center, hugging his sleepwear to his chest. The alpha hid his face in the clothes, breathing in deeply, his shoulders trembling and his broken sobs shaking in his throat.

When the omega’s scent got closer, the alpha felt a shock through his body. He quickly raised his head, his eyes and nose red from tears, and his lips still shaking. The alpha finally lost it when he saw his wife’s shocked and hesitant look. He was like a wild animal, driven crazy by fear. He let out a loud, hoarse cry and jumped forward, wrapping his arms and legs around the omega. He slammed him so hard that the omega screamed out in surprise, and they fell on the floor together.

“Y-you… why did you come back… so late…?” the omega heard his usually unapproachable husband say, his voice cracking with tears, “I-I was so scared you didn’t want me anymore… ”

At that moment, the omega froze.

Crying uncontrollably, the enormous, powerful man held him firmly to his chest as he clung to him. The omega would have thought he was dreaming if the pain in his ribs from the hold hadn’t been there.

“S-sir…” he cautiously said. “What… what’s the matter?”

No captive bird is allowed to call out its owner by name. He always addressed his husband as “sir“—a respectful title, distant yet alluring.

The alpha sniffled, his nose red and his lips still salty from tears he hadn’t wiped away. In his frantic state, he awkwardly seized his wife’s lips, biting and kissing them. His pheromones surged—violent, restless, desperately wrapping around the omega’s body. He rubbed passionately against the sensitive spot at the omega’s nape, as if he were trying to break the barrier between them, aching to unite their very souls into one harmonious being.

The omega was soaked with sweat, and his hands were frozen in place, not being able to do anything. He was left with no choice but to hold onto the hem of his own shirt as the alpha forcefully pushed him back against the wall of the cramped room. He felt a dull pain in his neck as his gland was pushed hard, like a death sentence. Finally, it shook and let out a thin puff of pheromones.

But it was odd.

His alpha’s intense desire didn’t cause him to sink or melt; instead, it left him feeling unbearably hot, as if he was on fire.

Is his alpha… sick?

The thought passed through his mind in a blur.

The alpha mumbled, voice deep, “Hold me…”

The omega’s fingers twitched. He was in a daze and took a while to react. The alpha’s fragile peace was immediately shattered. With a tightening of his jaw and an increasingly painful sob, he choked out the words, “Y-you won’t hold me… you don’t… want to…”

“……”

No matter how much he feared his imposing husband, the sight of this wounded beast cut deep into his soul. He swiftly lifted his arms and embraced the alpha’s wide back, tenderly caressing him to calm him down.

“Alright, alright,” he whispered, as if consoling a panicked child, “It’s okay… it’s okay…”

He has to be sick, he thought. Maybe even poisoned. His condition was serious—he needed to contact the institute doctors at once.

The alpha’s forehead was damp with sweat from crying, drenching his usually perfectly neat hair and causing it to stick wildly to his face. He looked at the omega and whispered, “Hold me tighter.”

“…Okay.”

The omega took a whiff. Even sick, he sensed that his husband wouldn’t hurt him now and wouldn’t see him as a toy. Then, gathering all his courage, he closed his arms around him.

“Tighter… please…”

“…Alright.”

This level of closeness was already disrespectful. He had never held on to his husband like this, even during heat. But the alpha still wasn’t satisfied—he pinned him in the corner, moving closer, and his wet eyelashes fluttered as they stuck to the omega’s face. He softly pleaded, “M-more… hnn… your legs…”

What? Legs?

The omega felt confused as he looked at the alpha. The alpha’s throat moved, and his attractive, intriguing face turned slightly red.

“My… waist…” the alpha murmured lightly.

The omega instantly said, “No.”

The alpha made a loud, pained sob and then bit his lip hard, like someone who was hurt but too scared to say anything. He looked at his wife with tears in his eyes, and his face quickly turned bright red. The omega had never seen anything like this before—his mind went blank.

“Ah…! W-what I mean is…” quickly stroking the alpha’s back, he immediately brushed the wet bangs from his face and said, “S-sir… we should go to the doctor first…”

“…No doctor!” he alpha cried, almost passing out. “I don’t want a doctor… I want to stay with you. Don’t go… don’t leave—”

“I’m not leaving! I never said I was leaving!” the omega panicked, “I’m staying. Wherever you go, I’ll stay with you… I won’t leave, I swear!”

He cupped the alpha’s cheek as he moved closer, desperately trying to reassure him. At moments like this, reputation was irrelevant—all that mattered was that the problem had to be resolved.

Thankfully, wherever he tried to go, the alpha held on firmly and pushed himself in the same direction, saving him some effort. Still hugging and pressing against each other, the omega finally freed a hand and pressed the call button.

…Good. Now the doctors could deal with the problem.

But when his husband recovered—when he remembered how utterly humiliating this scene had been—how would he treat him then?

The omega could only smile sadly as he held the alpha, who was snuggling into his chest and whimpering like a pampered child.
