PCMWF Chapter 102

The Mushroom Squad Reunites

The two little ones were not disappointed by Mi Huan’s answer. In fact, they were quite proud. They had actually built a toilet! That was so impressive! Mi Le enthusiastically wanted to build a toilet bowl for Youyou next, because one toilet could only be used by one person at a time. Youyou was so small, a toilet bowl would suit him better.

Mi Huan was speechless. Who comes to the beach to build squat toilets and toilet bowls? He was a celebrity; didn’t he have any dignity? Of course, Mi Huan only thought this in his head. In front of Chairman Shen, he didn’t dare say a word of objection. This was Su Youli’s first time visiting a tropical island. The outdoor temperature was nearly 35 degrees Celsius, and the sand was warm. Shen Minyan held a small electric fan up to the little guy’s hot little face, cooling him down.

“Lele, I’m getting tired.”

Su Youli was a child who never pushed himself. When he was tired, he rested.

Mi Le waved his hand. “Then rest, Youyou. I’m going to build a toilet bowl for Niu Niu too.”

The little guy melted into his father’s arms, holding his water cup with both hands and taking big gulps. Meanwhile, Mi Huan was ready to bang his head against the ground.

“Mi Le. I’m counting to three. Get up right now.”

Mi Le turned his head and glanced at his brother. “Brother, are you jealous? Do you like squat toilets or toilet bowls? Once I finish Niu Niu’s, I’ll build one for you too. Don’t worry.”

Mi Huan clenched his fists and lowered his voice: “I don’t want one.”

“How can a person not have a toilet…” Toilet Master Mi Le muttered.

Mi Le was still wearing the tropical shirt and shorts Mi Huan had specially picked out for the island, with little sunglasses perched on his head. He was a proper little handsome guy. And now, sand was stuck to his arms, sweat was all over his forehead, and when he wiped his face, he got sand on there too. Mi Huan closed his eyes. If this kept up, by the time this episode aired, he and Mi Le would be known as the “Toilet Brothers.”

While he was lost in thought, Mi Le had already finished Niu Niu’s toilet bowl.

“Youyou, come here!”

Having recovered a bit of energy, the little guy trotted over and admired the toilet bowl Lele had built.

“What do you think? I even drew a flower on Niu Niu’s toilet bowl.”

The little guy crouched down and studied it carefully. Then he looked at his own bare toilet bowl, picked up a small stick on the ground, and drew a leaf on his. The two little ones stood there admiring their masterpieces, a sense of satisfaction washing over them. Just when Mi Huan thought they were finally done, Mi Le suddenly put his hands on his waistband, stuck his bottom out, and started to squat down.

Mi Huan’s mind went blank. He felt like he’d been struck by lightning. He lunged forward and grabbed him. “What are you doing?!”

“Testing the toilet I made. I want to see if it works.” Mi Le, now held by the scruff of his neck, said matter-of-factly.

Mi Huan wanted to call him “brother,” “boss,” “ancestor.” “It’s made of sand! Can you use a sand toilet? Do you want to get arrested by the police for public urination and defecation?”

To Mi Huan’s surprise, Mi Le looked at him like he was the idiot. “I’m not three years old. I’m not actually going to use it. It’s pretend! Pretend!”

Mi Huan: “…”

Youyou, frozen in place: “TOT”

The little guy had already stuck his bottom out. Was he going or not? The staff had already burst out laughing. They’d shot so much material before all the guests had even arrived.

“If you want your entire internet search history to be full of your embarrassing childhood moments, go ahead. Just don’t drag me down with you.”

Mi Huan put Mi Le down and moved far away. Youyou, watching the show from his father’s side with his hands tucked in: “Dad, what are ’embarrassing childhood moments’?”

Shen Minyan: “…It’s when little kids are really cute when they’re young.”

Can we please stop lying to children? Mi Huan was about to tear his hair out. When was this show going to start filming? If it didn’t start soon, Mi Le would be building his fourth toilet bowl. Five minutes later, the third family finally arrived on the beach.

“Niu Niu!”

Mi Le grabbed Youyou’s hand, and the two of them ran over to welcome her. The scar on Niu Niu’s forehead had healed. She was happy to see her two friends so enthusiastic.

“Youyou, Lele.”

The little girl wore a blue-and-white gradient dress, her hair tied in a ponytail with a bow on top. Mi Le immediately took her to see her toilet bowl. The “Mushroom Squad” was reunited. The three little ones huddled together, their heads close, chatting. While the children played, the adults began their own small talk. Du Ze hadn’t expected to see Shen Minyan on this show. As Shen Yan’s father, Shen Minyan had a more reserved and aloof demeanor. Du Ze felt that being on a show with Shen Minyan was a rare opportunity, so he was very ingratiating toward him.

“Chairman Shen, are you hot? Would you like to find a café to sit in for a while?”

Shen Minyan had already watched all the previous episodes. Du Ze had less screen time than his own daughter and wasn’t very memorable, but whenever he did appear, he was always talking to Shen Yan. If his eldest son hadn’t briefed him on the guests before departure, Shen Minyan might have actually been fooled by Du Ze’s friendly demeanor.

With the cameras rolling, Shen Minyan kept a straight face and said, “The children are still here.”

The unspoken message was: with the kids here, no parent would go to a café for air conditioning. Through previous news, Du Ze knew Shen Minyan was a doting father, so he quickly changed tactics. “Actually, coffee isn’t that great anyway. How about I go to the convenience store nearby and buy some drinks? The kids must be thirsty.”

Youyou and Mi Huan’s water bottles were kept with their parents, who would call them over periodically for a sip. Mi Huan’s gaze flickered over Du Ze. Du Ze wasn’t carrying Niu Niu’s water bottle.

Shen Minyan raised an eyebrow. “That would be very kind of you. Room-temperature bottled water for the kids would be fine.”

There was no harm in accepting a free errand. Feeling he had successfully made his first social connection, Du Ze was quite pleased with himself. This legendary Shen Minyan didn’t seem so hard to get along with after all. After he left, Mi Huan called the three children over.

“Niu Niu, where’s your water bottle?”

Niu Niu pointed behind her. “It’s in my bag. My bag is in the car.”

The sun was too strong. The little girl’s lips were already getting dry. Youyou voluntarily offered his own water bottle.

“Niu Niu, drink mine.”

Shen Minyan didn’t say anything. He used the clean cup lid from the small bottle to pour some for Niu Niu.

“Good afternoon, children! Welcome to Haicheng.”

The director uncle’s deep voice came through the speakers. The three little ones, after finishing their water, stood in a row:

“Good… after… noon, Director Uncle!”
