PCMWF Chapter 47

Da-ge, What's Wrong?

“Youyou, don’t be scared. They’re all very nice uncles and aunties.”

Su Youli blinked and said, “Mm.”

The little one needed to change his clothes, so the crew left the room. Taking advantage of this time, the production team scouted a few suitable filming locations around the Shen residence. With the two main subjects absent, the cameras had to focus on filming the Shen villa instead. The barrage was full of people saying they’d had their eyes opened:

[Thank you, production team, for showing me how the other half lives!!]

[What’s the difference between this and a palace?]

[Whoa, the drone has been flying for ages and still hasn’t finished filming the villa complex. So this is how the rich live?]

This was the little one’s first time appearing in the public eye, so Shen Yan had made an effort to dress him up. His Youyou looked adorable in anything. Shen Yan put him in a fresh, pale yellow tracksuit and had him carry a Stitch backpack. When they went downstairs, several staff members were gathered in the living room. On the table where they usually ate were two lapel microphones.

Su Youli held his eldest brother’s hand, still a bit nervous seeing so many strangers and cameras. Shen Yan lifted him into his high chair and attached a fuzzy microphone to him.

The little one curiously reached out and touched it. Soft. Eldest Brother had one too. The little one pointed at Shen Yan’s collar. “Fuzzy, Da-ge.”

Shen Yan smiled. “This is a microphone. Wearing this allows everyone to hear what we say.”

Su Youli blinked, lowered his chin, and spoke softly into the fuzzy mic. “Speaking.”

Shen Yan couldn’t help but smile. This little incident actually helped the little one relax quite a bit. Aside from two staff members who stayed behind for the interview, the others adjusted the camera angles and left after they sat down.

“Hello, Youyou.” The person interviewing them was a young woman with short hair.

Su Youli hadn’t met her before. He obediently said, “Hello, jiejie.”

“Can you introduce the person sitting next to you?”

Su Youli licked his little lips, his voice very soft. “It’s Da-ge.”

Su Youli had no idea this was an interview. To him, it was just a jiejie chatting with him. After he had adjusted, the jiejie guided him into talking about his upcoming adventure. Seeing him cooperate so well without any discomfort, Shen Yan breathed a sigh of relief. The interview was just a formality. This segment would quickly be edited into a short promotional video to reveal the guests.

After finishing, the little one wasn’t in a rush to eat breakfast. He sat in his high chair, fiddling with the small utensils on the table. He waited quietly for his eldest brother to finish answering the short-haired jiejie’s questions. After this interview, the production team would no longer appear in front of them, retreating behind the scenes. When the interview was over, the staff packed up their things and stood up to leave.

Su Youli wiggled his little fingers. “Jiejie, goodbye.”

So well-behaved. The staff member was completely won over by Su Youli. The crew assigned to this group felt very lucky. This group of guests was really easy to work with. After everyone left, Shen Yan went to the kitchen to get breakfast.

Su Youli tilted his head and looked at him. “Where’s Grandpa Butler?”

Usually, Grandpa Butler and Auntie Jiang brought them breakfast.

Shen Yan explained, “From now on, when we’re on the show, it’ll just be Eldest Brother and you. Are you happy?”

The little one was a bit confused but responded instinctively, “Happy~”

Shen Yan smiled, put a bib on him, and handed him his spoon and training chopsticks. Su Youli had good habits, but when it came to learning to use chopsticks, he was a bit lazy. His chubby hand grabbed the spoon, and he started eating, the chopsticks forgotten. Tang Dou, watching from behind the camera, nearly lost it.

He had been teaching the little one to use chopsticks these past few days, and he was almost there. It required daily practice and reinforcement. Now, Shen Yan had just given up. As long as the kid could eat, it was fine. Tang Dou held his forehead. Shen Yan was his useless teammate, no help at all when it came to educating the little one! After breakfast, Shen Yan led the little one by the hand for a walk in the garden. Su Youli bounced along, his backpack on his back, Stitch’s big ears flopping behind him.

“Youyou, are you happy that Eldest Brother is spending the day with you?”

Su Youli nodded. “Happy!”

In the little one’s memory, Eldest Brother, Second Brother, and Shen Father were all very busy, not like Brother Xiao Tang, who could play with him every day. After walking in the garden for ten minutes, the little one clasped his little hands together, his eyes darting around, frequently looking outside the villa.

Shen Yan crouched in front of him. “What’s wrong?”

When the little one woke up today, he hadn’t seen Grandpa Butler, hadn’t seen Auntie Jiang, and even Brother Xiao Tang was gone.

So that was it. Shen Yan put his arm around Su Youli’s little shoulders and pointed in a certain direction. “Brother Xiao Tang has been with us the whole time.”

Su Youli blinked, looked in the direction his brother was pointing, and sure enough, saw Brother Xiao Tang standing far away, waving at him.

The little one jumped up excitedly. “Brother Xiao Tang!”

The soft little voice reached Tang Dou, warming his heart. As a nanny, he felt incredibly lucky to work for the Shen family. His little employer didn’t treat him like a nanny at all, but truly like a brother. After that call, the staff standing next to Tang Dou all looked at him.

“So you’re Youyou’s brother,” a staff member said enviously.

Tang Dou just nodded slightly. “I’m the little young master’s nanny, responsible for his daily care.”

The young man had bright black eyes, a clean and pure temperament, and was very approachable. When everyone heard the word ‘nanny,’ they looked at him with complicated expressions. But Tang Dou just smiled calmly, crossed his arms, and stood straight.

After a few moments of silence, a young woman with a work badge asked, “Does the little young master need another nanny?”

Tang Dou’s eyes turned cold.

The young woman smiled sheepishly. “Actually, I’m really good at taking care of children. The money doesn’t matter.”

Tang Dou snorted. Try to steal my job? Not a chance.

“This is my professional qualification certificate. This is my Ph.D. diploma. These are my English and French certificates…”

Tang Dou stood with one hand in his pocket, scrolling through his phone with the other, showing them images page by page.

The young woman gasped. “You’re amazing.”

Tang Dou put away his phone, a proud smile on his lips. “If I weren’t, how could I deserve the nearly seven-figure annual salary Chairman Shen pays me?”

Now, not only the young woman but even the director watching on the monitor had his mouth hanging open. The Shen family paid a nanny an annual salary in the seven figures!

Whew~

Tang Dou looked away, noticing that the people who had looked down on the nanny profession moments ago now only showed envy. In the shot, the little one, knowing Brother Xiao Tang was right there and hadn’t left him, confidently held his eldest brother’s hand and walked toward the garden swing.

“Ah, Youyou, Eldest Brother’s stomach really hurts.” Shen Yan stopped walking and suddenly crouched down in pain.

Su Youli was startled and threw his arms around him. “Da-ge, what’s wrong?”
